what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

Yes plus the loudness is noticeably lowerr using the SE connection on the LCD-5, why would I actively not use the amp's full power output via balanced if its there to use,

Also I wonder as well if the K13 R2R might have a better balanced connection, or be different with balanced vs. single-ended. Unlikely but I know reviews that have flagged issues with a particular connection before on some DAC/AMPs. Technically you can't be thorough in a review if you're not trying different scenarios.

PS. Is the K13 due for arrival today, or still travelling with the delivery driver?

Got the Dunu Titan today.

Tips for dayssssss, so many tips.
Cable is lovely.
Metal shell construction for the IEM.
Sounds quite close to the EW300.

I think I will use these at home with the 4.4mm out. Oh, these are really easy to drive, only using the Apply dongle DAC on the Mac and I am on the lowest volume setting out of the computer.

I mean, Audeze recommends >500mw. Based on the spec 1w would get you to 120db with them and the k13 r2r single ended gives you 1.2w so there should be zero benefit to the balanced output unless fiio have ****** up somewhere.

Still need the balanced connection to test though with the LCD-5 either way to keep it all fair

@Starvald have you got yours yet?

I have been listening on them this lunch hour, only using my Apple dongle. The Hexa need about 3-4 from the bottom on the Mac's built in volume to match the Dunu on the very first mark. They are so easy to drive, you don't need an amp at all.

It's funny that on the graph on Squiglink the bass (and the rest of the curve) is very similar to the Hexa but I swear there is more bass with this. It might be new toy syndrome, but the vocals are very good too, perhaps nicer than Hexa. The imagining, placement of instruments is really good.

I am getting that feeling of how can I beat this again lol. I didn't even buy this for the IEM but I really like them!

Yeah, I got mine on Friday. My thoughts were it kinda comes in the middle of the Pure/Hexa tonally. A bit more bass than the Hexa, less than the Pure. Vocals and mid a little better than the Hexa, similar to the Pure. Highs, not as much as the Hexa, similar to the Pure. Detail wise I think it's got less detail in the highs than either Hexa or the Pure, but is a little smoother overall there. I may have ruined myself with getting an expensive pair of planars, in the DCA Noire XO, as they handle highs really well, and comparing the 3 iems, is unfair, as they handle things like twangy steel guitars, cymbals and tamborines a little unnaturally.

I think they trade blows with the Hexa/Pure, so are fighting in their correct division for sure. The accessory bundle is fantastic, the cable is great. Still have to get them out into their expected use case, as I'm waiting on the Chord Poly I bought to be fixed :/ at which point I'm going to be going through all the iems I bought these past 2 months, and comparing them over lunch breaks and walks.

I am very impressed with the cable, unfortunately it doesn't fit perfectly with the Hexa due to the "shelf" but they are close enough in signature that I don't feel like i am losing out on anything. Not tried the cable on other IEMS yet. I am more than happy with these as they are. In fact, I find the instrument separation to be excellent to the point i am hearing new things? Or my mind is playing tricks on me.

I also have to remind myself how much these were.

p.s. it could be a fitment thing but the stock tips on these give me a better sub bass than all my other IEMs.

Mine came too, but forgot its 3.5mm so need to find a USB to 3.5mm for the phone now lol. Will test them with the DX5 II later.

Yeah I'm sort of the same. I don't need a new pair of headphones, my MX5 are fine but they aren't lovely like the B&W PX7-S3 are that I listened to the other day, so I want a pair.

But then I look at the PX8 and Dali IO8 because they are also well regarded as audiophine headphones.

I've been trying to resist the temptation of buying the Fiio QX13 for a couple of weeks or so, temptation got too much.

I've got better devices, I've got devices I will probably use more, but it is a itch I can't shake LOL.

I've asked the mods if we can get this thread pinned as it is in regular use - anyone got any ideas for a better title which reflects the actual usage of the thread? as I'm kind of blanking.
