This will be well sourced by James Ducker, so the club are currently of the view that the stats are heading in the right direction and he needs more time.

A bit of a worry as stats don't always paint an accurate picture (especially limited ones), more games will be needed.

Also, the incoming Benfica president is keen to get Amorim, so that might offer him a way out in the end.

I think that adds further credit to my comment in the club thread that the management have accepted that we're a top 10 club at best. And even that is going to take some time to achieve. Perhaps they're top 10 management themselves.

So losing to the likes of Chelsea and City is fine. Hence why the players don't care much either!

That just makes no sense mate. Clubs that have 'accepted' top 10 don't spend £200m, plan to build record breaking stadiums and talk about planning to win titles. Your comment has no basis in reality.

But they've also gambled on business end of the team, striker and keeper. The £200m players also didn't come from CL teams - which is fine, that's where we're at.

Spending money means nothing and the plan to build a "record breaking stadium" is kinda pipe dream at the moment. The government aint gonna fund it which is the current plan.

City signed a Championship player, they must be planning on Championship football then.

They're a team/club with a winning mentality that have won how many out of the last 10 leagues? Their recent purchases don't actually seem that good and they probably (hopefully) are on the decline

No comparison to United

Criminal to not sign a new midfielder either - again, they must have decided it's fine without one for now. Accept the performances etc.

The games aren’t going to get any easier anytime soon, but there’s another international break after we play Spurs, in November. If results don’t improve I think that 2 week break will be telling if Amorim is still at United.

As outsider why isn’t it possible? Amorim nearly got you relegated last season.

You could argue only didn’t as he didn’t start the season with you

Your form is no better now than it was before, if you get to December and you’re not past 15th place and close to relegation. A new manager may not fix it

Utd cannot let it get to point, if they do want Amorim out surely they have to act long before december
Honestly, United were nowhere near relegated last season. The difference between 18th and United was tremendous, 17 points. If 17 points off is "nearly relegation" then Chelsea were "nearly champions".

There's only been one 38-game Prem season where United would have been relegated with their last season results.

The fact it's being talked about as a possibility is the concern, but in reality it's just not going to happen. The table proppers really are awful teams.

I don't think it would have mattered either way. They'd still have paired whoever they ended up with alongside Bruno which just wouldn't work. Fernandes is not a player suited to Amorim's midfield.

Exactly Bruno out or strip him of the captaincy and see how long till he runs to Saudi haha

The only reason you werent 'anywhere near relegation' was down to ten hag and van nistelrooy - amorim is on course to be hitting 38points over the course of a season. although it wouldnt surprise me if over the next 7 games you get less than 7 points either, bringing his tally down. Hell you guys are 6 points worse off from the opening 4 games compared to last seasons corresponding fixtures..

Amorin is currently a 38-point manager, which probably protects us from relegation purely because the gulf to the championship is so wide.

It's really not good enough for us to not be qualifying for Europe in some form. We've blown the conference league place from the EFL already. I was hopeful with the pretty good signings we would be at least looking to be top half at Christmas.....but we can't win games at all right now.

Every team knows exactly how to play through us, we're at a massive disadvantage even before the first whistle as Amorin is so adamant he won't ever change the system.

It's really alarming that his priority is quite clearly NOT to win football matches. His number one priority is to implement his system, or die trying. There's clearly no way he's going to change at this point.....so what is going to happen?

What do people think IS going to change that will turn around results for us?

Sack him, get Glasner, sell Fernandes and get a decent young midfielder in January (baleba/wharton for 100m or Stiller for half that)
