**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Well the offer is still on the Magic V2, still specced very well with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2,

£100 off the class A refurbished atm = £499, you get £10 worth of points for joining up with Honor, and then if you follow this link you can get 10% off as well,

You just need an Honor serial number, they are easy to find ;-)

That will bring the phone down to £439! which is really a bargain, and you get the full years warranty with Honor, mine was boxed and sealed like new.

I got a Poco F7 recently. The 8s gen 4 is quite snappy coming from the 888. I had the F3 years ago and like that phone, there's still a fair bit of bloatware on it to begin with. Not difficult to remove though. Nice to see battery limiting functions in there. Hoping to get a nice 5 years out of it.

My partner still uses her F3 to this day. I've finally convinced her to have my S25 Ultra when my new foldable arrives, so the F3 might become a new satnav /work phone. There's still life in the old beast yet.

XDA is a pretty decent resource for debloating phones, should you need to ;)

My Poco F5 is doing the volume up thing and warning message you keep 'oking and cancelling' ad infinitum. You have to reboot to see if stop doing. Ok for a while then it comes back. Think it is a software issue.

So looking at new devices.

Ideally with a 3.5mm headphones jack as love my headphones. Which limits to mid rangers and gaming phones (not bothered by gaming).

Would be good to have a same or better camera.

Shortlisting
1. Another Xiaomi of some sort
2. Redmagic 10 pro S (more of a gaming phone)
3. Asus ultra or ROG perhaps (but lack of updates is concerning)

Not interest in Sony as too expensive!

edit: ordered the redmagic :-)

Thinking about getting the F7. Just not sure it's worth it coming from a f5

I've had the Poco F3 for around 3.5 years, but just recently, it's started to operate very erratically.
It's a shame, as it's been good on the whole otherwise. The battery efficiency has been very impressive and still is.
So, I don't know if it will somehow fix itself over time, like maybe when a software update is released, though I expect it's most likely on its way out. I hope I'm wrong.

If I am at the point where I need to look for a new phone, then, as when purchasing a monitor, I'll probably find it to be a painful process.
This time, I may look to spend a bit more on something that has better software support, such as one of the Samsung, Apple, or Google phones.
I may even look into one of the folding/flip models.

Time to watch a ton of videos.

Are refurbished phones worth considering?

Just picked up the Poco X7 Pro for £150 including the 90w charger. Wow, what a device! The screen is amazing and the soc is super fast. I've come from Pixel and HyperOS is a joy to use. Emulation is great too. I use the Gamesir Gamehub app to play pc games and they're running like a dream. So far I've tested Tomb Raider and Street Fighter 4 Ultra and both run at 60fps. All the biggest play store games I've tried all run at max graphics and over 60fps. The camera is decent too.
I am very happy.

I took delivery of my Pico X7, 12 GB and 512GB storage. Overall I'm impressed.
Coming from a Note 10pro it is decent.
Two things that I have missed.....
Side finger print scanner.
Macro camera.
Both of those not overly common these days.

For the cost of these phones, they do seem to be good vfm.

I'll see what Xiaomi apps can be removed, trying to be careful as things went a little wrong last time, with my 10 Pro.

I do NOT like changing over phones, even with the copy function, there is still a lot to do.

I've had the F7 for a few weeks and it's holding up well. Like my old F3 was, it's fast for the price range but also the odd feature from the most premium phones isn't there. Makes sense to cut costs but I forgot it doesn't do video over usb c or wireless charging. Not a huge deal but I wanted to mess with a portable monitor for a bit.

Just coming up to 5 years now with my Xiaomi POCO F2 owned from new for just over £300. Outstanding.
I find shopping for a new phone so boring with such incremental upgrades, that I'm stubbornly going to keep running this until it dies I think. Battery life has become hard to get through a day though so I might treat it to a new one.
Only thing I can knock the phone on is wireless Android Auto just is so unreliable that it is unusable for me so have to use a wire.

I was very happy with my F2 Pro, and am very happy with my F5 Pro. Will likely get the F7 Pro next year when the F8 comes out. It will be my first waterproof phone, lol.

Op15.... Design looks lame but there we go.
Much better than the previous circle camera bump, but yea still looks dry and too much like iPhone. Would have a case on it anyway so whatever.

This phone might actually tempt me back to OnePlus from Samsung due to the battery and charging speed. After it's released in China in October I guess we will see how it performs in the real world, before it gets released in the UK few months later.

Not really liking that design just makes me think it's poor replica of iPhone

But I prefer the circular designs just reminds me of DSR

I have the OnePlus 13 not worth upgrading so soon but getting more interested in the foldables
