No don't remember Avowed sry
I like games that becomes a legend that people talk about for long years
These games are in the history forever (We say a cult game ? sry i am not english)
Well i think this game will never be a legendary one (Cyberpunk 2077 is a legend, and its a solo game)
As of my posting this response there's almost 9K people on Steam alone playing COE33, aka a single player game. That's almost half a year after launch while maintaining an Overwhelmingly Positive user review on said platform -- that is not easy.
Cult status or "legendary" or however you want to put your opinion is irrelevant, the fact it's managed that with close to 70K reviews is impressive and more than enough to offer the game an ovation. Cyberpunk was messy on release and it was only funds and time that managed to resolve the many issues it had, aka a well regarded studio vs the first game launched by a start up company. In current day the COE33 team very much did exactly the same thing CD Projekt did back in 2007 with a largely unknown yet existing IP. Yet CD Projekt didn't make anything from scratch, and that holds true with Cyberpunk 2077 to boot. It was an existing IP they licenced, as good as they can be at making games they're miles behind Sandfall Interactive in every way that matters when judging actual launch titles and creative licence imo, and remember people by and large hated the combat in the first Witcher game too.
Yes, I guess if you listen to one person calling the game average and ignore all the overwhelming praise its received from everyone else, then you did indeed get the answer you wanted all along.
I think that's an accurate appraisal of the game. There is clearly a lot of creativity & passion that went into the making of this game. The gameplay is decent, with a few minor flaws for my tastes which is why I think it falls just short of being a "masterpiece". But there is still a lot of hype and talk surrounding the game and I think it will end up being a strong contender for GOTY.
I'm really enjoying it, chipping away slowly as time permits but about 8 hours in and it's been fun so far. As a side note, my 4 year old son walked in and watched as I was doing the Gestral village part and he wants to watch more (which I won't let him, was just luckily doing a friendlier part). I like the combat (expedition mode) and the dodge/parry mechanics but there are still some enemies where you have to learn the timer before you can beat them, one thing I am not sure will be fun in another 20 hours but we shall see. Music and style is great and it runs pretty well for me. Personally, I haven't played many games in the last couple of years and it's brought me back to actually wanting to play again which is a win from my side. I also like the forgiving nature of saving in it and the fact you can play 30 mins and feel like you've achieved something then pick it up the next day.
I wanted to like this. The "random latin warbled singing" soundtrack is a definite miss though. Got about 30 mins in and had enough with it another day/try maybe.

If the music is putting you off it only gets more bombastic the further in you progress. personally i think the game sounds amazing, and is one of its merits.

Ye, I got nooooothing against stuff in a similar direction usually. For whatever reason (might have been the day/mood, I dunno) it just grated horrifically, to a point of giving me the ik. First time like that. Will try again at some point.
I'm about 77 hours in (basically complete at this point including almost all side content, I'm the type to grind every wall to see if there is hidden content )
Graphics are pretty, some really nice locations and scenery, needs optimisation though, FPS could be better on my spec
Music is quite enjoyable, I really like a couple of the tracks, others not so much
I play on normal. The dodge / parry mechanic can be frustrating sometimes but you do get a sense of satisfaction memorising timing for them. As you approach the end of the game you may get a little tired of this though. It's not that much a big deal as your damage and health will get to a point where it doesn't matter as much unless you are challenging very specific end game content which can still almost one shot you. There are some silly builds you can make that just makes everything a walk in the park. It does seem to be one of those games that lets you challenge yourself as much as you want though. I didn't get to experience the release frustration of dying and not being able to "retry" a battle so I think I got it easy.
I think they tried to mimic final fantasy 7s materia with the pictos to be honest, or at least drew a lot of inspiration from them. I got a love hate relationship with them because I find some useless, some completely overpowered and some made the gameplay a little more interesting. Micromanaging them up to a point was fun but does get tedious.
Way too many weapons for each character, I know it gives variation but I thought it was a little over done.
The trading system could have been better, I was hoarding chroma until I had over 2 million "Just in case" but it was pretty pointless in the end as I just used everything I already picked up. Same with weapon upgrades unless it is the very last upgrade material.
If you look at reccomendations most people favour certain weapons and pictos in act 3 / end game because they are just the best options in all scenarios. I didn't look at any guides and only looked after and came to the same conclusion which shows they either didn't think out the options properly or they just intended there to be multiple options for variations sake.
Now I typically play RPGs for their story. This one was meh. It felt a bit predictable and once you get to the meat of it there wasn't really any excitement. I was frustrated with some of the characters decisions and I never even bothered using sciel or monaco, I think having to learn yet another play style for these two put me off a bit possibly because I was still getting used to the other characters and I hadn't really become absorbed into the story. they didn't have any magnetism either, though it could also be because I don't get that much time to game so I'm trying to get into it quickly. Anyway, going back to the storyline itself
When Gustav died I didn't really feel anything for him, I didn't like the character and how he behaved and I didn't grow attached to him for it to affect me. I could understand Maelle being upset though but it was just a thing that happened. I've got to say it felt a little obvious where everything was going for the main arc though and as I approach the final fight theres no real suspense / excitement / intrigue, its just something I have to do. There were other issues with the plot but I don't want to write an essay here.
A few of the side locations are very small or consist of just picking up something, I was dissapionted. It amounted to a few side quests for the characters and some difficult opponents to beat for more pictos. I did enjoy a couple of the locations.
Map could have been better, needs the ability to mark a location.
Starting act 3 could have done with a tiny bit of direction as in, "maybe we should go here" or a hint. Have to admit I did look up where to go next because any location I tried I was getting one shotted.
I didn't have much care for the optional stuff at camp, I just did them to get the gradient bonsues and for completions sake.
Esquie is probably the most likable character for me.
The game is probably 50/60 hours just doing the main content.
The character skills were kind of silly, again it felt like there were so many options for variation but you ended up gravitating to a specific few. Guess it depended on your build but at no point did I feel "I need that skill". To be honest I felt like I was working out my style of gameplay through out the entire game, grabbing a new skill to try out and ultimately not using it instead focusing on what I knew and perfecting my dodge/parry skills. In act 3 / end game I started using the same strategies often to get passed the insane health pools and mechanics.
Overall the game was "okay" but it didn't absorb me anywhere near other rpgs have. For £23 it was worth it though.

Isn't there something weird going on with the lyrics like some parts of French but other parts is like a made-up language and apparently there's some kind of cipher to try and translate it. I don't think it's as black and white as it's all French
Hmmm, didn't recognise it but French isn't one I speak anything of (Greek+Spanish). Apologies with my comment causing sleep issues/waking up with it lodged
I was around 28 when I started axons. I did a bit of farming at one of the axons. Was super easy. Just shoot them and they die before they even get a chance to attack. Was like 40-60K or more xp per fight.
I am now at monolith and you get similar xp, maybe little more but fights to a lot longer. If by the time I finish exploring monolith I am not level 60 I might go back and farm more or just simply explore the map more.
