As I was driving into work this morning I realised what a difference having a height adjustable arm rest makes to my driving comfort. All my previous cars have had forward and backwards adjustment but were at a set height which always left me lopsided if I wanted to actually use them.

Anyone else found any random little simple thing like this that actually makes quite a big difference to how comfortable/easy your car is to drive?

Somewhere to rest your right foot when you have the cruise on is an often overlooked feature. Especially now my rapidly deteriorating middle aged body has developed what I believe is medically referred to as a gammy knee.

It's not exactly a little thing, as they often come with a significant additional cost. However, massage seats have been a game changer for my lower back ache on longer drives.

I no longer have them but all my previous Volvos used to have a tiny clip on the inside of the windscreen to hold your parking ticket.

Such a handy little thing that no other cars seem to have.

Heated windscreen, heated mirrors, heated seats. Just wish I had a heated steering wheel. I must be honest, having looked at quite a few cars recently, I'm amazed at how well decked out our 2018 Mini actually is.

The one thing I wish my BMW had that my Focus did. The heated front windscreen.

Dozens of different 'brands' available for varying degrees of cheapness, probably even cheaper somewhere like AliExpress

your missus loves telling me about your little things
At least she's still thinking of me :o

All the heated bits are definitely winners as well, this is my first car with heated seats/steering wheel and it's much nicer not having all the heat sucked out of you as soon as you get in.

One thing I miss from my old Hyundai, a dedicated sunglasses holder. I've bought one that clips on the sun visor for this car but it's just not the same.

The one thing I missed from my Audi A3 - the tiny middle sun visor above the rear view mirror - Game Changer!

Heated steering wheel and ventilated seats are nice, and auto full beam that dips when it detects oncoming cars. I also like the little hooks in the boot for shopping.

+1 for the dedicated Sun glasses holder. Miss that from my old GTI

Haven't really owned any fancy cars so I live in a land of ignorance where I don't know what I am missing!

Our previous van, a Pug Boxer, had one and I actually used it quite a lot. Didn't stop me fumbling as I reached to put the ticket on it and then have to try and recover it without dropping into a vent.

The Bixer and Vivaro before it were basic creatures. DAB and aircon were actually upgrades from the basic spec. I am slightly spoiled with the Crafter, as it is all digital. I did miss cruise control, not had that since our ill fated Citreon Picasso, so that is great.

The biggest little thing for me is having a steering wheel that adjusts for reach, as well as height. Not had that for over fifteen years and it is just so much more relaxing to drive with my arms in a comfortable position.

I wouldn’t buy a car without heated seats now! Aircon that works is a bonus too.

I’m not used to many creature comforts in our cars!
