The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

yes but i dont get the same options for the screens even using that method unless i want to drop all my screens down to 60hz which kinda defeats the point of having 165hz screens really lol
i only have like 60 120 and 165 for the wides and ive only got 60 100 and 144 on the not widescreen so the only option that would match would be 60hz

yeah one is hdmi which i think is the big issue
2 of the screens are the oddysey g7 ultra wide the other one is the not ultrawide g7 but yeah the odd one out is on hdmi which i think is the problem, if it was on dp instead of hdmi it would be ok to run at 165hz same as the otehr 2 lol
really wish the sapphires had 3 dp instead of 2 and 2 hdmi lol that is probably the big problem really

If you dont use the third display for gaming or anything that needs a higher refresh then can you set that at 60Hz and the 2 DP displays at 120Hz and check if the memory clocks drop at idle?

To be honest I was running all mine at 120Hz for a long time and have not really felt much difference in gaming since switching them all to 144Hz. Cant see you feeling much of a difference going from 165Hz to 120Hz if the memory clocks bother you so much.

From there, if the third display flashes all displays black for a second when you switch it off you can just switch source which will keep it on but looks like its switched off, which is what I do with mine.

Otherwise you'll need to sell the GPU and buy another with 3xDP :(

its more the heat and power usage that really bothers me lol
il see if it lets me do 60 and 120 on the other 2
and yeah id also need to find another white card which narrows it down even more
all good il try the 60/120 thing if that doesnt work il just have to live with it lol
it hates it when you turn the 3rd display on or off all the screens start scrolling through orientations like the desktop is doing a barrel role almost which is rather amusing
il see what 120/60 says it might work
tbh i only notied the vram thing/temperature increase thing in the last week or so not sure if its somethign that got worse with the last adrenaline update
i think its the hdmi issue this card doesnt work at all over hdmi on some screens ive noticed lol which is one of the reasosn i bought these lot il give it a shot
and thanks again i didnt think of the setting them at multiples of each other
it hink eventually going am5 is the way forward thoguh

nope no 120 option either LOL!
Well that sucks, are they Freesync/Adaptive Sync displays? If so make sure they are all set to enabled in the drivers, when I updated to the latest my 1 Adaptive Sync display got disabled and gave me high memory clocks.

Clcick 'Settings' > 'Display' > make sure Freesync or VRR are enabled.

thats the other thing
the 2 identical screens one appears to give me the free synch option the other says not supported
this may well be the cable though im guessing i think they are identical cables, they came with the screens but i guess that might be the issue
i still think a second gpu or am5 might be the answer lol
but yeah it only gives me the freesynch and adaptive synch on one screen and that also happens to be the one that isnt set to primary in windows so maybe if i do a quick experiment and swap them over so number 2 is my primary see if it switches which one it says is supported if it stays the same then i know its not that lol
its really not a big big issue its probably been like that since i got the setup ive only noticed when i started messing about with settings and trying to set a new benchmark with the new case/fans lol
so i cant use this as an excuse to buy a sapphire pure 9060 and just use that for the extra screen? probably not the best way to solve the issue but might look cool? [not massively being serious but i could see myself doing it lol]

That's a point.. Are you using certified HDMI and DP cables or Ali express specials?

I use DP to my monitor and an 8k certified HDMI cable to my oled telly. It wasn't that expensive, about £20 IIRC.

Edit.. I run both at 120hz as that's the max my TV can do, my monitor is 165hz but I can't really tell the difference so I just stick to 120hz on both.

My pc also set to 1440p as that's what my monitor is and it's easier on the GPU to force the 4k oled telly to 1440p also.

Edit 2.. Both my TV (LG) and monitor (dell) have Freesync premium so VRR isn't an issue I've had.

yeah the dp cables are the ones that came with the samsung monitors so im assuming they are at least half decent
the hdmi is a 8k labeled one was about 25£ from a well known online retailer that we cant mention for obvious reasons its a ugreen branded one i think.
I think the issue is that on hdmi and dp the options for refresh rates are so different that I cant seem to chose one that works for all 3 and i cant even chose a number thats a multiple
tbh i guess i have 3 optiosn
buy a second gpu liek a 9060xt or something
go am5 and use the onboard [im going am5 at somepoint anyway lol]
or just live with it like ive probably unknowingly done for months
or knowing me do all 3 lol live with it a while then do one of the others am5 or second gpu
if its not going to do any long term damage to the vram or affect its lifespan then i guess i can live with the extra electric bill and just only turn number 3 on when im actualy using it
i think im overthinking this massively and probably wasting you guys time so sorry lol

Oh by the way, 3 of my displays are 144Hz and for 4th is almost the same model but a 165Hz version.. choosing refresh rates for that 4th one does not give me an option for 165Hz (144Hz max) with HDMI but it does with DP so I think it might be your cables spec that isnt the latest that is limiting those refresh rate options. I know all of my HDMI cables are kinda old now :D

@mark 11:11 You could buy something like this or find a similar second hand card..

I ran both AMD and Nvidia drivers at the same time with my 7800X3D iGPU and a 3060Ti without any issues but you probably wont need to install the Nvidia drivers, Windows will usually pick up the display anyway.
comedy is i just literally gave away a nearly brand new 3060 12gb to a friend when i upgraded to the 9070xt LOL!
and the quaddros i only gave away a few months ago as well rather amusing thinking about it lol
i was assuming that the 144hz limit on my monitors is because of hdmi they apparantly do 165hz over dp and 144 over hdmi and upon looking at other makes and models the 144hz hdmi thing seems to be a common thing so this is an assumption but im guessing one of the variants of the hdmi standard has in fact got a 144hz limit to the standard?
3rd monitor in portrait mode is super super usefull to me at given times but i guess it is somethign i can leave turned off 80% of the time and live with the vram thing for the other moments when i am using it its not like im using it at a time im in need of max performance from the gpu because i really dont its two totally different scenarios so as long as its not causing any longevity issues then ehhh im over thinking it lol

That 3060 could have been useful then

I use the 165Hz monitor with a second PC I've put together from my old case and X470 Mobo that runs a Ryzen 4300G now, which does 165Hz from its iGPU through DP. I just change the source to HDMI when I need to use the fourth display for my main PC.

Just turn it off when you're not using it, concentrate on an AM5 upgrade, I'm so happy I switched to AM5 myself, the bandwidth has made a huge difference through the 9070, RAM speeds are so nice at 6000MhzCL30 and I've not even bought a Gen 5 M.2 yet, still using a Gen 4 990 Pro :)

im also using a 990 pro 2tb as my c drive lol
i was using a 4770k until december when i got the 5900x based system and yeah it was a massive stepup i only bought the 3060 [new in december dont ask lol i needed something to last until rdna 4/50 series came out lol]

but yeah i think am5 is deffo on the horizon especially if the rumoured 12 cores one ccd with x3d is true in the next gen i think that would chew through gutiar amp sims like nothing else lol
part of me just misses having multiple gpus though but i dont know why its not like the pair of quaddros was particularly special or anything lol far from it
but yeah i gave a few gpus away a few months ago when i got the 9070xt thinking id never need them now and well just lol really massive lol
but saying that i just splurged aload of cash making everything white so it matched my 9070xt lol so ehhhhh i guess id have had to get another pure anyway LOL!
the comedy is none of any of this has made my guitar playing get any better lol not even getting another gpu will make me play guitar better so really the whole thing is jsut silly but ehhh here we are lol

Damn.. where do they get off charging £70 for that? youd be better off buying a fake chinese 4080 gpu for about £25, lol.

could creating a custom resolution help setting up the same refresh rate?
i will attempt to find out later i guess lol
I still half think this could be a good excuse to get a 9060 xt sapphire pure it might look really cool if we can get the cable management looking decent
im guessing there's gonna be other issues doing that like adrenaline maybe not liking me trying to set different settings for each of the two cards? id obviously be setting a [very small] undervolt on both and im guessing that might not want to be the same amount although i guess i find a number that is stable on both and accept that's a limitation

on the other hand the last few days since ive noticed ive been forcing myself to alter my workflow to use just the 2 screens and i can sorta get away with it but its deffo something id prefer to not be doing a lot lol

I still love this card though and wouldnt want to change it just a shame it didnt have 3 display port connections lol
