Lightspeed broadband - Slow access to iOS updates

Just thought I'd ask as I've seen a few people on here using Lightspeed. Ours was installed a couple of months ago and everything seems to be running fine. That as until last nights iOS 26 release. I started the download and at one point my phone was showing over 9 hours until completion. I just assumed that Apple servers were overloaded and when I looked at the live data on the Eero app it showed my phone was using 3Mb/sec. But when I turned wifi off and the download reverted to EEs 5g network, the download completed in about 20 mins. Now nearly 24 hours later I'm trying to update my Apple TV and it too is at 3Mb/sec. Have any others experienced this? I'm on the 500 meg package and speed tests all showing I'm getting the full speed.

Normal for new iOS releases, it's more of a CDN/Apple issue. My EE 1.6 Gbps was only getting 50 Mbps or so at one point last night updating my devices.

But yet it came through fine over 5G. That's what I don't understand

I should also mention that my Apple TV is connected via ethernet so that rules out any wifi issues

It could be that EE have better peering/agreements with the CDN who Apple uses compared to Lightspeed, or that Lightspeed's overall connection to the internet was saturated when everyone was downloading updates.

Mine were quite hit-and-miss last night doing the updates on Lightspeed. While the Apple servers were definitely being hammered, others were getting theirs downloaded before I was. I found on my phone and laptop that birefly disconnecting the wifi and letting the download resume again bumped the speed up a lot. Not really anything that can be done in that situation, it is what it is really. I've never had anything else really slow down via Lightspeed.
