*** The Official iPhone 17 thread (it has new camera bumps and everything!) ***

Sienna TechWoven 17 Pro Max case secured tonight from the Apple store. None on display yet, had to ask for it and they had some in the back.

Supposedly first person to buy a techwoven from my local store which was a surprise! Feels super robust and great quality.

Glad I went blue now. Didn't think the orange cut out was so different from the rest of the body.

I asked somewhere on here if the signal would be improved this year and it looks like it’s a LOT better on the Pro models. I wonder if the same applies to the iPhone 17.

Glad I went silver, not fussed on the blue, and despite that orange being pretty close the the colour of my car, I really don't like it on the iPhone.

I think I'm going to continue my two-year upgrade cycle. I went from 13 Pro to 15 Pro and I'm suitably convinced by the 17 Pro.

Reasons:

- 15 Pro gets terribly warm far too frequently, often "pauses" while charging esp. when using Apple CarPlay + Wireless charging
- Battery Health is on 87% and I've had to start carrying a battery pack when I know I'll be out for the entire day
- I take a lot of photographs so any camera upgrades are always welcome even though I have no issue with the 15 Pro camera
- Two year cycle is usually the sweet spot for trade-in value

Also glad for silver :) It did make me wonder with it being aluminium body this year whether orange and blue will scratch and show through very clearly, especially with that big exposed camera bump with no case protection.

What has made people go for the AIR?

The 12gb ram is interesting and the slightly bigger screen - ill have to see how the reviews come in but the thinner design is nice.

However the 17 standard is too good to ignore.

Ironically I'm a photo professional but the 17pro doesn't interest me, too thick tbh, nice cameras sure but im always carrying a high end proper camera so not so much of an issue really, my Sony a92 or Fuji X100VI destroys any phone.

Similar thoughts from me also, albeit 15 PM. Also new shiny.

I’ve had the 15 pro for two years now.. I want new shiny. Also battery life and performance improvements are a plus.

Ah yeah I forgot. Heat distribution and cooling are definitely a plus.

Air seems like the worst of the bunch. Small battery, thermal throttles and the camera is worse, but it's more expensive than the 17.

Even my 16PM gets pretty toasty when the CPU/GPU is under decent load. Will be interesting to see how much cooler the 17PM runs without thermal throttling.

My 16 Pro also gets very hot, I'm thankful for the thermal shielding the batteries were given for that generation. I think Titanium was a poor design choice because of the heat issues, hopefully Apple won't use it on Pro models in future.

Had always planned to downsize this year from the 13PM, specs wise I've just ended up ordering the regular 17 in 256gb sage - be a nice change from the 13PM in sierra blue and (alongside the airpods pros on order) it'll be the end of lightning devices for me
