Alien TV series (Alien Earth) : 2025

It pushed the plot onwards quite a bit in today’s ep, lots of doing and less brooding.

I think its quite good entertainment, yes there are gaping holes in the story and such but it is a fresh take on the story.

I agree with this sentiment. I’d almost always rather something was different / intriguing than ‘same old’ or rehashes. If that means some people really don’t like it, then that’s a price worth paying (risk worth taking?).

Ditto, I’d rather watch something that ends up being not to my taste than watch something that feels ‘middle of the road’ / tired. In this series, I’ve found the 5th episode on the spaceship the least interesting of the bunch, because it was more of the same.

So they are all psychopaths.

The only redeeming bit will be the smart alien.

The series started off so well but now feels like they are just making it up as they go along.

I'll finish this to see how it ends but yeah... this one wasnt for me.

I really dont like how she has the Xeno as a pet and it just follows her order. Why cant it just stay as a bug killer and that be it. Best part was the Ginger girl pulling the guys jaw off. The strenght of the synths seems to only come alive when they need it

Working around highly educated people that make stupid snap decisions based on arbitrary nonsense makes the stupidity of the characters choices quite believable. but there is a lot left unexplained. its fine for watching while i eat my dinner.

I'm enjoying the series as a whole, it's far from perfect. Typically of a TV show it does feel like it's being slightly dragged out, but that's the luxury of it being a show rather than a film I guess, having time to develop story/characters.

You can tell the writers and directors are fans of 70s/80s scifi, Blade Runner/Alien/The Thing vibes all the way through.

My only critiscm is that I wanted to see more of the other alien lifeforms creating havoc, the pod has displayed it's tenticle like a venus fly trap and not done much else, the metal hungry bugs eating a synth and T Ocellus occupying a sheep - although it fighting the Alien was impressive and it studying everything is creepy as.

The latest episode loses points for seeing the Alien during the day outside, felt like a bit of fan service/nod to Predator, it didn't work for me. But then it gained points for Queens of the Stoneage needle drop.

The outro music so far has been killer, bar none.

Im sure these synth hybrids were dubbed indestructible and didn't the first episode have Wendy dropping 20 meters onto the ground something like that.... Then running off rather zippily.
That, apart from the jaw dropping jaw rip, seems to have been utterly sidelined.

I assume episode 8 is going to actually be a rather full on packed episode and will probably give us all these "wow" moments all at once.
Nibs and Wendy "and" her pet alien "shredding" the worst security force i've seen since dads army.
Eyemonster will get to have a chat, which will be cool no matter what. Even if cheesy. (Someone said Ade Edmondson which on reflection would be best, his voice will be perfect and might explain why hes even cast in this show for next to nothing if im honest.... )

I was really hoping Weyland Yutani forces would clash vs Funcorp prodigy or whatever they are called. Not happening. Least we heard once pulse rifle fire.

Are they going to milk a second series? I'm really not too bothered.
I wont lie its been fun/annoying to watch which is fine by me.
It hasn't really destroyed anything canonically? I mean this all kinda fits in a self contained way which is ok....

I'm hoping so , for the very reason you mention there, I've had fun/enjoyed watching it. If I enjoy watching something thats reason enough for me to want to watch more, conversely if I'm not enjoying watching something I tend not to watch more, I mean why would I, got better things to do with my time than watch something I'm not enjoying, but then I do lead quite a full life :)

Wth with Wendy "what did you do"

Ummm nibs was going psycho
And known to us but not Wendy was that Nibs was about to kill Hermit's friend who undoubtedly had saved his life on many occasions. Wendy is loco. Not sure about the Alien pet thing either. I would be seriously worried if I were Hermit he's just watched her command a vicious animal to kill a dozen people because it was inconvenient to her.
