Last night was probably the best we've played so far this season. The attack had been a bit disjointed at times but things started flowing yesterday and we could & should have scored 4 or 5. It was Salah's best attacking performance this season, Wirtz was quietly excellent and there were some really promising bits of link up with Isak and the 3 behind him.
Although neither goal came from this, our right hand side from a defensive point of view still concerns me. Because Salah doesn't defend Frimpong was pushing up to deal with their LB, leaving huge space for their LW and meaning Konate was basically playing CB and RB. Something will have to give there and either Salah's going to have to do more defensive work or we'll have to tweak how the midfield is set up.
On the bust-up after our winner, Simeone was Simeone all game. He was bouncing up and down appealing for everything, gesturing to the crowd and he got some back when we scored and went full Simeone. He wasn't the worst one from the Atletico bench though. One of his coaches spent the entire 2nd half level with the edge of our 18 yard box bouncing up and down, shouting instructions and trying to gee the Atletico fans up. Given that managers have to remain in their technical area, I've no idea why that was allowed.

Bournemouth aside, every side we've faced have been absolute dogs and it's Moyes' Everton nextCan we not play another Stoke for a while please.
