My son mainly plays roblox, fortnite type games, hell divers, COD

Current PC is getting on and overheating.

Currently 1080p but ill get him 1440 screen soon. He already has 3070Ti which we will re use along with screen k/b mouse and I have windows.

To save cost I am going to buy a 'AMD Ryzen 5 7500F (Socket AM5) Processor' from China

then..

MSI B850M Gaming Plus WIFI6E (AMD AM5) B850 DDR5 Micro-ATX Motherboard £139.99
Corsair Vengeance RGB EXPO 32GB (2X16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C36 6000MHz Dual Channel £109.99
Team Group MP44L 1TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive £49.99
Antec CX600M ARGB M-ATX Mini Tower - Black £54.95
MSI MAG A650BN UK PSU 650W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply £49.99
Thermalright Assassin X 120 R Digital ARGB Black CPU Air Cooler £20.95

Total £426 plus £100 for the 7500F

Does this build look ok?
Is power supply big enough, at least for now?
Any better items for not much more money?
Anything I forgot?

Do you still get free delivery if forum member?

thanks

Cooler is fine for now, but you might want to get the bigger version to accommodate future upgrades.

I'd look at Crucial's 48GB kit for £125, just to give you a bit more headroom. No RGB though.

3070 Ti uses more power than I'd have hoped for, ideally, but yeah, it should cover it. How is the power cable connected currently?

I may upgrade the processor in the future so which fan would you recommend?

If I do that, do I also upgrade the PSU to a 750?

Does 3070ti fit in a matx case? Should I be going ATX?

The bigger version is the peerless assassin/phantom spirit.

It wouldn't hurt, but this was supposed to be a budget upgrade, right?

The max GPU length of the CX600M is huge, so I think you're fine on that front.

Yes budget but if I don't upgrade the PSU, is there any point in upgrading the fan?

do have an extra few quid so I could do this or the memory?

Also is my plan to buy a 7500f ok for a 3070ti? Would it run 1440?

Hmm, yes, because you will still be able to upgrade the graphics card within the same power envelope as the existing card. That said, I do prefer 750 for most gaming builds, as I think the future utility or upgrade potential of 750/850 PSUs is better than 550/650.

There's no issue to pair a 7500F with a 3070 Ti.

1440p: 3070 Ti has the grunt for 1440p, but VRAM will be a limitation in some newer games/circumstances (leading to the use of lower settings, or some degradation in visuals. like popping textures).

I'd expect it to last 2-3 years before you'll want something on the level of a 5070 Ti or better.

7500f is fine with a 3070ti.

The 3070ti transient spike load is about 350w so it will be fine with that 650w psu.

As long as you are sure that you won't get a more power hungry card in the future (think 5080/9070xt type cards) then I'd just stick with 650w.

If you do get a beefier PSU it's more expensive but also gives you that flexibility...it's only money worth spending now if you think there's a more than reasonable chance you'd need to use it. Else just wasted money IMO

Oof ram prices really shot up in the last few weeks. Could've got 32gb for £80ish!

Tbh if you're already getting the CPU from china I'd just get the ram from there too.
32gb (2x 16) of Juhor RGB DDR5 6000 ram for less than £60 I believe.

That's great advise.

What's your opinion on the 48gb suggestion?

It's a good suggestion if you need the GBs, and some games do demand it (eg heavily modded cities skylines)

otherwise personally I'd just stick to 32gb... especially as the prices currently have increased (see my post just prior)

I'm just about to order and noticed some comments re the fans not being controllable on the case and a bit noisy. As I'm sticking with 32gb and basic fan I can spend a bit extra for

Kolink Citadel Mesh RGB Micro-ATX Case - Black

Or
Lian Li Lancool 205M Mesh Micro-ATX PC Case Black

or other suggestion.

What do u think best?

Where did you read that (assuming not a competitor)? There used to be a RGB version of the case, but I believe the current one is ARGB and the fans can be connected to the motherboard. I don't know if that applies to their speed, or just the lighting.

I can't find it now, think it was Reddit. I've looked up so many pages and reviews on everything it's a blur! Think it said noisy too as always on full speed.

His room does get warm so decent air for world be good.
What is best case for easy building and airflow out of

CX600M
CX500M
The Kolink or Lian above?

Thx

Ahh, hmm. I wonder if they were referring to the RGB version, but even though the case clearly states it can be connected to the motherboard, it doesn't clarify if this only applies to the lighting.

The Kolink and Lian Li are both mesh fronted with 2x fans pre-installed at the front, though the Kolink are 120mm and the 205M are 140mm.

The Antec doesn't have a mesh front and the intakes are on the side, but it has an exhaust fan installed that the 205M doesn't come with.

I'd say any of those cases will handle your intended parts fine and you can always add extra fans if needed. The CX600M has the longest GPU support.

I don't know much about the CX500M, or how these cases are to build in.

What tetras said

The RGB version was the ones with the crappy fans.
The ARGB has the upgraded fans that are controllable.
