Alien TV series (Alien Earth) : 2025

Another farce of an episode.

The writers and producers have completely lost the whole ethos of an Alien story.

Second half of the episode was basically a rip off of Jurassic Park/World, with the Alien running around in plain view in the jungle shredding people like a velociraptor. Wendy is the equivalent of Chris Pratt's wrangler.

Meanwhile the out of control science in the highly unsecure lab continues to run riot, not one of them seems to have the wit to flash the room and be done with it.

The only ever Alien entertainment where I've been rooting for the xeno's.

Damn the Alien looks pap. I’m sure this is a comedy and a dumb one at that. This has made Ridley Scott’s latest offerings look like masterpieces.

Shame the ginger girl got killed she just became interesting.

I have the advantage? that I dont watch the episode until 9pm on Thursday night, so it always tickles me that I read posts on a wednesday of how god awful each episode is and then I watch it the next day and discover that I dont find the episode anywhere near as diabolically dreadful as the posts have made out each week. Its like a nice little surprise for me each week :D

One man's poop is another man's chocolaty goodness.

Is this going to be another sci-fi series axed after one season, with next week's final episode of the series finishing with a wishy-washy "tune in next season to see what happens" ending? :D

A lot of people ripping into this series, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes there are a lot of plot holes, but it's not detracted from my enjoyment in the slightest.
I've enjoyed it too, if dross like Star Trek Discovery can get 5 seasons and Mrs Browns Boys can get 5 seasons and win multiple awards I dont see why Alien Earth cant have more than 1 season :)

Latest episode was okay, it's all very predictable. Watching it for the aliens and general atmosphere of the show, which is mostly good.

The plot itself is not partially well thought out tbh. The "children" are generally just annoying and the whole concept is ridiculous.

It's a turn your brain off and enjoy the show kind of series, which I find difficult to do these days.

I think the concept of the children is great, just very poorly executed. We could have had them battling the aliens as their strength is on par - a full on battle. But they chose to keep them childlike and just do stoopid things.

Have been really enjoying this - yeah, it's not perfect, but it's generally good, and certainly better than Prometheus/Covenant.

Who fires someone, but leaves them with god level access to their most critical assets. And does nobody except the synth bother monitoring the CCTV or guard the lab?

Yeah, that was definitely one of my "WTF" moments - "you're fired, and if you're still here in 12 hours you might be shot".

"Also, feel free to spend the next 12 hours doing whatever you want with no supervision at all"

Not sure about the whole pet Xeno thing - seems a bit cliche and cheesy, and takes away a lot of the fear. It's no longer a relentless, singularly focused killing machine with which we could never have any compromise or common ground, it's just a misunderstood predatory animal, and that means we can be friends, yay!

Wth with Wendy "what did you do"

Ummm nibs was going psycho

Didn't he just stun her anyway?

"Yeah, I hit her with a glorified tazer, she'll be fine in 10 minutes"
"Oh, fair enough, seems like a reasonable and measured response to her ripping the guys face off, all good bro"

Little things like the above aside, it's more fun Alien messiness, which is all good, and looking forward to the next episode.

===

Also the bald guy (Adrian Edmondson?) is basically playing Claude Littner. Prove me wrong. :p

I put that in the rock paper scissors category, we saw Nibs shrug off several rifle rounds but was fried by tazer that stuns organic life. One assumes that synths are susceptible to electrical weapons and she is likely dead. No doubt that will be important later on if some rogue synth needs putting down.
