What "man jobs" have you done today?

Has anyone replaced their flat roof with GRP and done it themselves? It actually doesn't look too complicated, and would be something for the spring rather than getting done by the winter weather mid-job, but quite tempted to give it a bash.

What's the reason for going GRP over an EPDM roof?

I personally went with an EPDM for the increased lifespan and much easier for a DIYer to install over GRP.

Further to a previous question about how best to run radiator pipes to a wall from its original location, I filled the channels and levelled the floor with some No Nonsense <50mm SLC from Screwfix.

I have done it before and have all the gear, spiked roller and shoes, trowelled it into the gaps etc., but still managed to partly mess up the simplest part...the mixing. I have a proper dedicated paddle mixer but there were still some lumps of unmixed product. All sorted but it resulted in an inconsistent mix.

It's nice and flat now. The underlay and wooden flooring has arrived now so once I've painted the woodwork, that's the next job.

Getting the house ready for a party tomorrow... Decided to sharpen the lawnmower blade before doing the garden.

Yep, it's sharp. Didn't really feel that, it was like a paper cut but much deeper.

(Also mowed the lawn and packed one full wheely bin worth of bindweed, ugh)

Tis but a scratch compared to my circular saw cut to my middle finger:)

Almost finished pairing up all my Smart home products to the new fibre that was installed recently, with one of the last being the 8 coloured bulbs in the garden that required each lamp watertight glass being removed, bulbs twisted in/out 3 times and then paired up with Tapo & Alexa.

Lucky that it was raining lightly as well :D

Tapo didn't like me transfering the old wifi names and passwords over to the new install and just started to fail all plugs, hubs, sensors and light switches to name a few :(

Did the same a couple of years ago and wouldn't go back now.

Made a start on decorating the bathroom:
- filled some cracks
- countersunk some screw heads properly so they are no longer proud (whoever tried filling over them was a complete cowboy)
- did a very quick coat of gloss on the door (and used a roller for gloss for the first time - game changer!)

Also:
- Descaled the kettle
- polished the kettle with Autoglym metal polish
- which then reminded me to clean my exhaust tips, so did them on both cars.

Oopsie. Still not sure what went wrong. Everything had been primed properly and two coats of emulsion had been down for two weeks.

I've ordered the yellow delicate version to see if the same thing happens.
