Borderlands 4 (2025)

You should always set anisotropic filtering to x16, that might be causing the dotty edges.
ah cheers ill try that :)

edit: oh that done the trick thank you it has reduced that by quite a lot :D

armour or energy shields?

im confused about them i got a legendary armour one as my first one and using it but not sure what is better?

I’m using armour shields as you can pick up boosters and I seem to live longer.
ah i do like picking up boosters, the armour sheild i have is annoying me though it keeps building up last bar then jerking my view :)

Good find; it's bizarre that sometimes I find games where the Ultra or top preset doesn't use x16 AF, I'm like wtf is this **** lol... AF is so cheap to run, AF 0x vs AF 16x is like 1-2% performance but it makes a huge difference to image quality it should always be on and set to x16. Plenty of games on Nintendo consoles don't use AF and they look awful for it but on a PC or Sony/MS console there is no reason not to use it

Goddammit! Was playing away quite happily after the initial crashfest and now it's started doing it again. :/

I've not changed anything with my PC so who knows what's going on.

So i'm playing solo on hard. Not finding it that difficult to be honest. Think I've died about 4-5 times in 10+ hours.

I get lots of Purple drops though, only 2 orange so far and they weren't great weapons (weirdly)

I was a bit disappointed after finishing the first Vault I came across that the boss (Inceptus) which was quite a slog to kill, didn't drop a legendary for me.

Yup, I never got any legendary items from him either.

Do a rerun on Splashzone, got some nice legendary drops from him at level 14.

Plan to do another run or more if applicable now I'm level 20, as I've outgrown my current legendary's.

They made a big deal about legendary drops, which were ridiculously common in BL3, going back to BL2 levels.

I like that they're less common but they're still nowhere near as rare as they were in BL2.

Yeh, I really disliked the legendary drops in BL3, pretty much got one with each battle, ludicrous.

In BL4, apart from Splashzone, I haven't had one legendary drop, so I think that's pretty good, makes them more special.

I’m just doing the main quest as I’ve heard unless you complete the main quest the level up caps out and your grinding for nothing. Once the main quest is complete I’ll do everything else.

Really enjoying this game once i hit endgame.
The campaign is just meh but i love clearing POI`s and grinding gear in games and this is just perfect for that at the moment.
Ive just been farming vile bounties since i finished campaign on my main but its a lot of fun and easily the fastest way to level from 30-50.

Are the weeklies just something extra to farm?
Ive done them but they werent ticked off as done or anything and seem to be there all the time even though ive done them.

Just finished watching Digital Foundry's console review on this game and wow if you think this game has issues on the PC it's a bloodbath if you own it on a console.

Putting aside the memory leak which tanks the performance after an hour to get high 50's/60 FPS (this is considered 'performance mode') the game looks like it's running at mostly low settings running at dynamic scaling resolutions of between 720p to 1080p which leads to odd outputs such as 1142x841. I didn't even knon console resolutions still went that low.

I wonder if the consoles should have fallen back to their old tricks from the 8th gen and brought back checkerboard rendering on a game like this. It will certainly be interesting to see if future patches are able to improve the performance and see just how much optimisation is possible with a UE5 game (the way developers implement nantie technology seems to one of the biggest problems that's causing performance issues).
