I grow up with PC gaming, lan party’s original unreal tournaments insta gib and counter strike in its beta days etc

Battlefield PC browser days and nice admins etc. now however i must be old (36) I’m sick of pc patching and a windows update causing trouble and the like.

I don’t have issues like this on my ps5 or xbox I just turn on go to game launch it and done.

PC experience isn’t as fun as it used to be infact in pc early days when we didn’t have multiple launchers and we all simply launched the .exe etc it was fine or least my brain remembers it so.

Side track of thread but I’m really torn on what to get Battlefield 6 on, it runs so well on PS5 and Xbox Series S, yes my PC and 3070Ti runs it better but for the faff I could face not sure it’s enough
My childhood was consoles, but my teens was both, I remember going to a local groups lan party too play MW2 back in the day and I'm a similar age to yourself

I don't mind the patching and updates cause I've personally not had any major issues even with Windows 11 or Nvidia drivers this year (which I know loads of people have had issues), I will say however as a person still stuck with older fibre it pains me having to wait on patches to download when there massive (as most are nowadays) vs console which would've downloaded them in sleep mode, thankfully we are supposed to get switched over to FTTP next year, they've been in village laying the cable and stuff last few week, so that shouldn't be as much of an issue soon

I've personally been considering giving console another try but I've also been thinking of giving Linux a fair try, just maybe doesn't feel right trading in my 5070Ti for a 9070XT haha, plus I did really enjoy the BF6 beta so giving up that would be harsh too

Anyway sorry for derailing thread further

I think it's kind of natural, especially as responsibilities become more and gaming time becomes less, that people just want to just get into a game in 1 minute or under and not have to mess with anything.

Well I was hoping for a PS5 Pro price cut by now but nothing.

Is it selling well ?
Can't imagine that's going to change in the current economic climate. As you may be aware, Xbox has just increased the price of the Series S/X in the US for the 2nd time in a matter of months.

I haven't seen any official figures for PS5 Pro sales, but by all accounts it's going as expected and in line with PS4 Pro sales. I imagine that will get a significant bump next year when GTA6 launches.

It's been on sale for under £650 from multiple retailers during Days of Play. The Game Collection has it for £20 under RRP, which seems to be the cheapest, right now.

Preordered silent Hill F from rainforest, the exclusive steelbook one, says delivery saturday, despite coming out Thursday, Also the standard edition does say delivery for Friday. Very strange! Would be nice to get it for Friday atleast, Saturday is a bit crap.

Never pre-ordered from here before for a game, usually just get it from argos on the day, but fancy the look of the steelbook so got no choice.

I've totally stopped pre-ordering anything with Amazon.
Unless the item specifically says "Arriving on such and such day" you should assume they are sending it on release date for the day afterwards.
I got into an argument with their CS when I decided I was going to go for the PS5 Pro after all. Had some Amazon credit, so seemed logical. Item didn't arrive and CS made it quite clear it was only ever "ship on release date".
Cancelled and just popped to my local Currys and took one off the shelf......

Had games arrive 1-2 days after release, signed albums up to a week after release.
