*** The Official AirPods {all gens} (and AirPods Pro [all gens]) thread ***

Have I really just read a whole load of posts about putting AirPods / AirPods Pro cases in cases?

Just got my APP3 delivered and paired up to my ecosystem, right of the bat these fit different to the APP2, and I can use the default medium tips on these rather than the large ones with the APP2.

The sound signature is different as well vs the APP2, seems to be more V shaped with a bit more bass and treble out of the box, it works well on some tracks I guess, but not as great on some. Will need more time to see if I prefer one them snundwise over the APP2s.

The ANC I will have to test a bit later on and I have high hopes that they are noticeably better than the APP2 as that was my main reason to get the APP3.

Yes I have got a case with mine, just a plain simple white silicone one with mine, in fact the same brand as the one I got for my APP2 and it has held up pretty well for the last 2 years or so in constant use.

Thanks for confirming what a few others are saying in regards to the sound. Not a big fan of V shapes so looking very likely I'll stick with my APP2s for a while.

Got mine friday, like the revised sound profile, ANC is good, did get a cheap silicon case as they get thrown in pockets with keys, rucksack and i find the black case hides them well against my desk so I can spend a few minutes wondering where i left them, can test the Find My feature, and should have learnt from the last case and got a different colour.

I want to try to compare how they sound vs APP2 before comitting....the latest LTT video doesn't give me much confidence about their sound as I am not a fan of V-shaped IEMs.

Im about to CeX my APP2, but yeah watching that LTT has slightly hesitant to trade them in now. Im sure Apple has a master plan and will either update them with software allow 'profile' or EQ for the sound signature and make some fanfare about it. Like I mentioned above the sound signature on the APP3s can work well on some music tracks, but it can be pretty muddled on others, still need a bit more time with them.

The APP3 I am not a massive fan of. I don't like the harder ear tips... I really liked the soft ones of the APP2...

2 things i am not sold on.

1 - The V-shaped sound
2 - Foam tips...lots of reports of tearing already. Durability and longevity questioned, and I don't want to be buying replacements for them, I never bought replacements for any tips

Why I want it...

1 - ANC
2 - ANC
3 - Live Translation

I cancelled because of everything but the live translation I can get around with wired IEM, not ANC but really good sound isolation to the point that a lorry can drive past me. On a plane, sleeping I would prefer wired anyway as they are harder to lose if they fall out.

If APP2 is on sale on Black Friday for like £150 I might just get them instead.

Don't forget battery life, they're lasting I guess twice as long as my APP2's. I can get a full days work out of them with ANC on which is pretty epic for their size.

I know, but if 4hr from the Nothing Ear(2) does me, then APP2 is going to be fine as well.

Had to play around with the tips to get the right fit but I think they are fine as an upgrade. The ANC is my most important feature and it seems to be improved.
