My good god.Why would anyone want to watch a load of second rate 70s sitcoms? It’s not like they’ll be remotely relatable in this day and age.

A solid rebuttal.My good god.
Which is great for those who were there at the time watching them first time round. Most people now couldn’t care less about some 70s drek. It's called `nostalgia` m8![]()
You'd probably need to define "most people". Many people maybe, but given the popularity still of reruns of shows like Some Mothers do have them, The Good Life, Porridge and Mash, I'd need to see proof that "most" people dont want to watch themWhich is great for those who were there at the time watching them first time round. What I’m guessing you mean is “you” don’t care about them therefore no one should.Which is great for those who were there at the time watching them first time round. Most people now couldn’t care less about some 70s drek.
And has been edited out of most of the DVD (re)releases of it as well. There is a warning for 'Only Fools and Horses' when you goto view it on ITV online, regarding it's 'context' - and it has been edited to remove certain parts... Uncle Albert, Del, and Rodney used to say things like "I got it from the P---- shop!" etcand it was shown in the evenings without multiple generations ever getting offended...
Yep, I noticed that! If only I'd kept my VHS'And has been edited out of most of the DVD (re)releases of it as well.
If they do that, I think I might have to look into suicide.Faulty Towers is making a comeback amongst the young people from what I’ve read so sone the “drek” can and does appeal.

No, that’s not what I’m saying. I don’t care, you’re right, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think they should be broadcast. I also don’t care about football or formula 1, but I know lots of people do, so it makes sense that they’re all over the tv. 70s sitcoms? I doubt there’s a particularly sizeable audience that want to watch these shows any more. There’s a reason that at best they’re on channel 97 at 3 in the morning, and that’s that not many people want to watch them. What I’m guessing you mean is “you” don’t care about them therefore no one should.
Nice.
I'd add Cheers to that list, they should never remake that. Dont know if its still shown uncut, possibly not as it had quite a few jokes in it which would be deemed racist today and a "homophobic" joke very early on (first few episodes) of the first season.Yep, I noticed that! If only I'd kept my VHS'Good old 'long play recording, banging out 8 hours from a 4 hour tape - kids will never know!

That show like OF'n'H was perfection, and needs to be left well alone, as does Porridge and The Fast Show!
Oh god yes!!! Cheers was amazing! Fraser is great too! I even liked Happy Days!I'd add Cheers to that list, they should never remake that. That should be trivially obvious. Are those shoes coming anywhere near the top of the tv ratings in this day and age? I doubt it.You'd probably need to define "most people". Well thankfully I see that in your follow up post you changed from most people to many and sizeable, which I'm fine with. I dont doubt that there are many people who wouldnt watch them, merely that its not "most people" as you claimed (especially given that over 50% of the UK population are aged 40 or over and would be considered to be in the age group who would be more likely to watch The Good Life or MASH or Open All Hours etc)That should be trivially obvious. Are those shoes coming anywhere near the top of the tv ratings in this day and age? I doubt it.
For the record, I think those are all good shows. Would I watch them now? Maybe. Would I go out of my way to watch them? Probably not, though MASH is on my list to get to at some point.
Which mainstream TV show has ever made a joke about cancer? There is a warning for 'Only Fools and Horses' when you goto view it on ITV online, regarding it's 'context' - and it has been edited to remove certain parts... I swear comedy will become illegal soon - you won't be able to make any jokes about cancer, being fat, etc anymore; even if you're taking the **** out of yourself!![]()
Afterlife did but dont think that counts as mainstream tv.Which mainstream TV show has ever made a joke about cancer?
