Wet belt or chain?

Looking at a 2019/69 Vauxhall Astra 1.4T 150PS Griffin to replace a tired/feeble/poorly specced 2011/61 1.2 NA 85PS Corsa.

Don’t want a wet belt. Is there an online resource which will tell me by reg or vin? I ask as this MY is on the threshold of changes in the Astra engine line up.

I know it doesn't answer your Q, but why bother with an Astra? There are better cars out there for the money.

I had a wet belt in my previous Focus 1.0 Ecoboost. It was 11 years old and done 80k miles with no issues. I was always told as long as you are regular with the oil changes you should be fine. I traded it in for a Puma ST instead of paying for the belts to be changed.

you can check engine code for vin
