Alien TV series (Alien Earth) : 2025

Still trying to figure out if the self destruct in the lift was actually legit, or freaky girl messing with them making an alert that didn't exist. She was pushing the buttons to make it go on or off obviously, just seems incredibly random that a lift could have a self destruct. Though nothing would surprise me given how this all panned out.
It's just garbage, a one shot joke. Her playing with them. In my opinion made worse by them just turning up in their next scene like nothing happened or they just climbed a lift shaft. (Unless I blinked and missed something)

Second series.....

I wouldn't even mind if they teamed up with Yutani as their elite problem solving unit or something stupid if they have to milk...that's not aliens though is it :p not like this really was.

I think they made a huge mistake by showing so much of the xeno in broad daylight, and turning it into a trained puppy. It totally took away the 'horror' element, that's supposed to be a major element of 'Alien'.
And that it looked like someone in a rubber suit around the legs and arms.

What the hell did the scouts fire at the Xeno which scared it away? Strange given that in the previous episode it ripped through the soldiers even though they were firing at it !

Well, it didn't really build up to a finale did it, just put a bunch of stuff up in the air and left us waiting for S2.

Not quite sure where they go from here.
Yutani are on their way, Prodigy is broken and in a cell. The synths have their pet Xenos and the Eye monster is running around in zombie mode.

Felt very rushed, scenes seemed to just be crammed in without much of a setup. Could have done with another episode to be honest.

Ah well I've enjoyed it all. Started better than it finished this series for sure, but looking forward to S2.

We generally enjoyed this, but there were definitely a few things which let it down

So disappointing, might as well have slapped a massive cheesy "To be continued" over the top of it. Nothing resolved, plenty of questions left unanswered. It's like they forgot there were no more episodes this season...

I really didn't like the way they used Wendy's magic ability to hack the entire network to handwave (literally by just waving her hand) any plot inconveniences. E.g. there's no previous indication that Atom is actually a synth, but this is suddenly revealed in the last episode which then conveniently allows him to be easily neutralised - just seems like one of the writers suddenly thought "oh crap, how do we stop this guy from getting in the way", and retconned that in.

I assume the difference being in that instance they "surprised" it, whereas previously it had was aware of them and able to easily dodge bullets*

* although that in itself is a huge plot hole, given that in Aliens, while - yes they were hard to kill - they didn't have Neo-esque bullet time skills, plenty of them were killed, and they were only really able to overrun the marines by a combination of numbers and stealth/using the environment to get close.

Plenty of opportunity in the last episode for the xeno to be taken out by security - especially the scene where the corpse gets pulled down the corridor in front of them, and instead of immediately shooting it, they just shine their torch at it for 30s while it slowly and dramatically looks up at them...

Mr Boy Genius clearly hired the worst "elite" private security force in the entire world, freshly graduated from the Stormtrooper School of Marksmanship.

For the first 5-6 episodes I would have given it an 8 out of 10, but for the last 2 it took a massive nosedive, and overall I'd say closer to 5, maybe 6/10

I'm pretty sure that 'scare it away' shot hit the Xeno square in the head. I don't recall them actually being bulletproof in previous Alien films.

Perhaps they tried to retcon that away with the 'heading to the armoury to break out the bigger guns' scene. However, surely after half of the island's security has been wiped out by this thing, breaking out the bigger guns would have happened a lot sooner.

I don't think I can ever really forgive Aliens for turning the Xeno from a properly terrifying unstoppable killing machine, into a swarm of mindless drones that just explode when clipped by a rifle shot.

It's why I actually prefer Alien3 to Aliens. The lone xeno setup is quintessential Alien for me, Aliens is the aberration in the series.

I sort of get where you are coming from with this, the single nasty stalking you is often more scarier somehow than the multiple nasty stalking you. In Alien, the Alien is almost in effect, playing the role of Freddy or Michael Myers, or Jason, this relentless solo killing machine which just hunts you down and kills you one by one. In Aliens, the Aliens become more like a horde of zombies from Dawn of the Dead and perhaps in doing so they lose something.

Not sure the final episode could have been worse. There were no real surprises, no payoff. It's a missed opportunity.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled, then again considering the quality of shows now, Who knows? :)

The star of the show is meant to be the Aliens, reducing them to pets and having them walk around in daylight diminishes their impact and importance. Not sure who designed this version of the aliens but they just don't look right.

Such a shame, up to Ep 6 it wasn't awful, there was some hope for an interesting twist, but they gave us nothing.

I have forgiven the show for a lot of it's nonsense in the first 7 episodes and enjoyed it for what it is, but my god... MY GOD that final episode.
Might as well call Wendy Neo at this point or at least have Ex Machina tattooed across her forehead.

As much as I want to see the adventures of eye squid, cancel this show, CANCEL IT NOW. :(

Give the eye its own series, couldn't be any worse than this.
In terms of spin off potential, its actually been a very good series, I for one would watch a spin off series of Morrow (prequel maybe) and I would happily watch a spinoff series of Kirsh (prequel maybe) , I'd also happily watch a spin off prequel series of the founding of Prodigy to see more Atom Eins. I would also happily watch a spin off series of the original ship capturing all the different aliens on the different planets. On top of that I'd happily watch a spin off series of the eyeball.

So thats 5 potential spin off shows that I'd be happy to watch. Bunch of possibilities there, as a foundation for an Alien Earth "universe" its been very effective.

Maybe Kirsh and Morrow settle thier differences and can fight crime or something in their spinoff.

Or Fast and Furious presents : Kirsh and Morrow.
