What engine did you go for?So I bought the car. 2020 Focus ST-Line X, 33k on the clock, full main dealer service history, car in lovely condition and a nice level of equipment. £13k.
I’m very much enjoying it and being a driver again.

It’s the 1.0 mhev.
Chain driven, so much better than the earlier wet timing belt engines, but still has a wet belt that drives the oil pump.
Personally I'd ensure it gets an oil chain annually and using the correct specification Ford oil.
The Oil Pump belt should be changed at 10 years/100k miles, and is still a quite labour intense job as I understand (although not quite as bad as the wet timing belts), so plan for that to be expensive.
The main thing however is that it's a car you like and you are enjoying it![]()
Regardless of whether the next one is "due" at 54k, I wouldn't be leaving it 22k between oil changes. It just had a service 1k miles ago(ish) next one due at 54k. Should be good for now.

Annual oil change should be the default imo for anything with any kind of wet belt.
If you are main dealer servicing then, Ford offer a fixed price "essential service" for oil changes (although that's gone up in price since - it used to be £159 and included breakdown cover when I last had a Ford)

I believe on the newer Mk4 Focus the official intervals are every 2 years. Regardless, I would still be wanting an annual/10k oil change for piece of mind given the previous issues with Ford Wet Belts.as @Armageus said, if you look at your manual, it will tell you to change the oil at either 1 year or something like 10,000 miles (which ever comes FIRST)
