Forza Horizon 6 - Japan (2026)

I'm quite surprised Tokyo/Japan wasn't an earlier FH title given their car culture. Maybe we'll be able to drive some bosozoku cars :D

From a game stand point, I just hope they turn down all the free spins and cars. I'm not saying it needs to be grind to get the rarer super/hyper cars but IMO it does devalue them when you're gifted them out the wazoo.

Totally agree about the free cars, each forizon horizon game, within the first hour or so you often end up with hyper cars and/or lots of cash. I hope they don't have to much of the dance music, camera shake, and bits of coloured shapes and glitter plastered everywhere is tiresome. I do enjoy the series though and think it's doing much better than Forza Motorsport

I worry if I'm honest, I think it's probably too far down the line in the series now for them to make big sweeping changes to rewards/progression out of fear of a negative reaction. It desperately needs it as things have been on a downwards slide with each game, 5 just being completely over the top with how much and how often it threw things at you.

I actually miss the old Gran Turismo style of things, starting out with a complete banger and going through the used car dealerships early on to find random cars that might fit the requirements of some of the very specific races. Then when you have the money you still have to do some other sort of challenge to actually get the right to the rare cars.

I'm curious when it says launching on PC and Series S/X if that means Steam or just via the Xbox store. Also, wondering how big a delay there will be for the PS5 launch.

Yeah, progression is something I do miss about those games. I loved 4, but 5 just felt like more of the same.
I understand why they give out cars so much - if you buy a racing game and want to race Ferrari's and Lambo's then why not let them, it's not much fun if you have to grind out 10 hours of other cars/races before you can do that [insert video of Data O'Briain complaining about not being able to play Sabotage in Guitar Hero...], but there should be a way were they can have the open racing world and also still have a story mode that players can work through.

One of the worst kept secrets in FH history surely? People wanted to go to Japan so it was destined that eventually we'd get to Japan. Think I saw an image of a release date image saying 31st December 2026; although it was apparently taken down so could it have been a mistake or just someone faking it? I know FH6 will be released in 2026 but 31st December would be pushing it somewhat!

FH5 is kind of stale for me now. I have most of the cars and I just do the basic weekly challenges now. FH6 can't come soon enough, even if just for a change of scenery. Mexico, whilst nice, didn't feel as properly done as FH5 in the UK was.

I enjoyed 4 well enough but only because it was one of the few games where I can race on the correct side of the road.
