Completely disagree with this Digital ID crap.

First of all, It wont do a bloody thing to curb illegal immigration...how they even think this was a good valid "Excuse" to bring them on us is laughable.

Secondly, Hackers would have an absolute field day getting access to that sort of Data, Before you know it doctored clones of Digital ID cards will be made.
The UK is truly becoming North Korea at this point, Things like this shouldn't be able to just be passed through this quick without NUMEROUS Mp Debates (with a full house present! Not 90% empty like they usually do when it comes to serious debates) and votes from the people first.

Cannot wait for Starmer and his Gestapo party to be kicked out when the time comes so can get this country back on track.
If hackers would have a field day, why don’t they already have a field day with:
Your HMRC records
Your DWP records
Your NHS record
Your DVLA record
Your MI5/6 record
Your home office record
Your police record
Your local council record
Your electoral registration

I can’t be bothered to list the rest but you get the gist.

A large number of European countries operate ID card system, last time I checked none of those operated like North Korea. The fact you even mention North Korea blows out any credibility of your post and you clearly have no idea why it’s actually like to be North Korean and live under that regime.

Care to elaborate?
What track are you wanting to get back on?
The track before it felt like weren't second class citizens in our own country.
The track where you could get a doctors appointment and not wait weeks if not months!

The Tories weren't perfect, But Labour have been an absolute joke.

Whatever they say now, I have no doubt mission creep will set in and whatever this ID is will just become all consuming over time.

Tin foil hat concepts don’t really seem ridiculous as they used to seem 20yr ago.

all of a sudden this is the only solution to immigration ? Like really how convenient this is the answer. Amazing.

I remember 20 something years ago there was a conspiracy theory that the government was tapping phone calls on mass. It turned out to be true and they had been for years.

NHS waiting times are well down under the current Labour government…

The Tory backlog is going to take some time to clear though…

Next.

Probably because they would need to compromise 9 different sysems (Keep adding for anything else you wish to add to the list.)

Tell me you've never actually been a second class citizen or lived in a country that oppresses you, without using the words.

The tories created the problem.

You have NO idea how good people in the UK have it. The very fact that millions of people move here should tell you it's actually a relatively good place to be, by world standards.

Ah yes, those well informed members of the public.

All of those systems include your ID… so there is nothing new here.
Well the option is either a hacker accessing one database and getting access to ALL of your information, vs having to access 9+ different systems to collect the same volume of information.

With the dark web, it's not like a single actor needs to do 9 hacks. They just need some bitcoin, and it's all out there anyway.

The bit I don't understand, is Starmer says you won't be able to work unless you have a digital ID?

How does not having a digital ID prevent an illegal immigrant from working at a car wash or takeaway?

These people work for petty cash on the cheap, how do digital IDs stop them?

It doesn't, in the same way not having a National Insurance number doesn't stop them working illegally now.

This does nothing to stop the "Shadow Economy" that he keeps referring to.

It’s a rather bold assumption that they that all the information the government hold on you will be moved into one database, it clearly won’t because that’s not how that works in reality and wouldn’t be GDPR compliant.

Digital ID could be a common data point across them but hacking digital ID wouldn’t give anyone access to everything any government agency has on you. If they hacked one of those government agencies they have our ID anyway so there is no change.

So because it is already all out there, we should just forget about being prudent with security. Okay...
Not at all.

However you shouldn't allow unfounded fears, or fears that have may ALREADY materialised, to paralyse you into inaction.
Paranoia needs to be at a healthy level, not one that prevents any progress.
