Ghost of Yōtei - RT GALORE

Oh I didn't realise that was a sequel. I might get it when it's cheap one day I really struggled to finish AC lite Tsushima.
But of course it got a free pass for the most part because it was set in Japan, despite not really doing anything new work better than other games like it.

I liked the first game, didn't love it though, too Ubisofty for my taste. Just reading some reviews, some critique of the story seems pretty harsh

No, the story is just written terribly strangely. The samurai grandeur and certain sensitive poetics of the narrative that first Ghost of Tsushima managed has disappeared without a trace. Instead, the hurricane of melodrama enters with terrible pathos and cheap attempts to play at emotions. The difference from the tone of the first game is so stark, I was going to ask if the game was written by completely different people than the first.

So I went to check...and sure enough, this game was written by a different team. And unfortunately, it is not a change for the better: dialogues feel unnatural, the characters often do not behave believably, the scenario is standard boiler plate and painfully clumsy, you can predict the twists long before they happen, but mainly...the soul is gone. If Ghost of Tsushima felt as a tribute and a love letter to the work of the famous director Akira Kurosawa, then Ghost of Yótei feels like a Netflix adaptation of Kurosawa.

Problem with this series is for me I get burnt out due to completing the Assassin Creed games beforehand (oh no I mentioned Assassin Creed). I find the two series very similar in what they do and need a big break in between them. For this I will wait for PC release and even then probably wait for a sale, is it not a 6month wait now for Ps5 games to PC?

More Its like 1.5-2y for releases, Spiderman 2 was the fastest to date IIRC

And bugged to heck, hopefully they take longer.

That said, may wait for the pc release.
Only game that seemed to be really buggy from Nixxies was SM2 but I think Sony had them working on too many projects at once, didn't Horizon Remaster, TLOU Part 2 and SM2 come out all around same time?

If you watched the video you would see that isn't true
Well OK, a PS4 game engine with RTX and longer lasting leaf trails physics, to be more accurate :) Animations, combat, wind particles, vegetation - all seem near identical. I'm not hating on GoT, I nearly bought a PS5 to play it, but GoY doesn't look like a generational leap.

This is a YOU problem.
Ghost series does everything substantially better than AC series. Exploration, combat and story/characters are the main differences. Ghost series also takes a totally different approach to gameplay and world design - they let you chill, explore and get lost in the world. In Yotei the fact that both series have totally different approaches are even more visible and apparent.

Maybe, but I'm not alone, many are saying ACS is the better game this time. Like I said by the time it comes to PC I will give it a go, no hurry, more PC users will no doubt give a more robust comparison than just your normal rabid PS5 players, and yes I do own a PS5, lol

Nobody is saying ACS is better. The only thing ACS may be better at is having more technically advanced graphics although when comparing PS5 versions of both games the difference becomes less obvious.. That is it. You give me vibes of someone who is anti Ghost of Yotei for some reason, especially with the comment that many are saying ACS is a better game - nothing is further from the truth than this statement.
