Married At First Sight Australia & UK 2025

My other half watches these things, and I vaguely take an interest just to see how much of a polar opposite the ‘experts’ can put together just to make the maximum amount of conflict.

Man: “I don’t like big girls”
Experts: “we’re going to give him a big girl, that should work out perfectly”
Woman: “why didn’t he like me as soon as he saw me?”
Experts: “he’s clearly not putting in enough effort!”

watched a couple of seasons with the missus - what a truly horrid show filled with truly horrid people. from the contestants to the 'experts' the whole lot of them are just rotten people for the most part.

Is it still an opportunity for:
Women to advertise their OF?
Men to advertise their gym and PT services?

Haven't watched it in a few years now.

There's an even better dating show called Love After Lockup, focusing on people who date jailed crims in the US, and what happens after the crim is released. Needless to say, there are a few problems...

Series 2 (the one I saw during COVID) was hilarious- particularly Clint's fiance going on a crack binge with his credit card, which made her late for the wedding, then stealing and selling his (hired!) car on their wedding night.

One of those programs like 90 day fiance that have been on for years but i've only ever seen clips posted on reddit.

The Australian MAFS is my guilty pleasure. I let my partner watch all the ceremonies then I get involved when they first get into the couch

Shame it's no longer like the original seasons, with an outback bush farmer (with old-fashioned values) matched with a modern city girl. :D

My SO got me into it a couple of seasons ago, and I enjoyed it for a while - it's pure trash, but it was entertaining trash.

This season I've had to stop watching - so many of the people are awful, and I've lost a lot of respect for the "experts" based on some of their comments. It seems like the experiment has broadly failed in its primary objective, and I think the production need to include people who are obviously terrible human beings for the drama breaks/undermines the whole thing, while potentially doing actual harm to the participants.

I watch this now and again. It suffers from the usual “social experiment” type shows like Big Brother where maybe the first series people are genuine, but as time goes on it they just chase ratings.

I can’t even say these people this series are real and it’s not entirely scripted. For one of the weddings the brides sister was completely out of control, nobody in reality would have tolerated her, she would have been kicked out.

They've really made a mountain out of a molehill this season with the guy who punched the wall. They're acting like he beat up his wife!
