The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

I'm upgrading from a PowerColor 6700 XT Fighter to the XFX Mercury 9070 XT in a couple of weeks. Will I need to completely uninstall adrenaline and reinstall or will there just be a small driver update?

Thanks.
I think that the adrenalin should have the required files to just reconfigure the driver setup.

I haven't had to do a complete reinstall going from 6700xt to 7800xt to 9070xt :). All just worked swimmingly

Yep I had the same experience swapping from a saphire pulse 6800xt to an XFX quicksilver 9070xt... It all just worked... I think the adrenalin software just knows.

It was recognised straight away.. I even tried to force adrenalin to update and it was like 'nah you're already up to date, brah!'

It best to remove the driver and reinstall.

Yeah friends got the taichi and really likes it.
Lovely looking card and seems to use the same style cooler as the Phantom Gaming products with a bit of aesthetic design style change.

I had an ASRock 6800 Phantom and the cooler was exceptional in both noise and cooling performance, Brilliant design. so can only assume the 9070 will be the same :)

For those on Linux, I recently loaded up LACT again after months. I was surprised to see the available upper power limit was reported higher than before and had a look around to find the reason:

We now have the 10% overdrive available. While it seems possible to set the limit higher than before, I didn't notice a difference and it still appears to be throttling around 340W. It's possibly my card, so I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else has experienced a difference.

What do you use to test/benchmark?

Yeh looks good, I'd be happy with that.
Can't remember the figures for my XFX but I'm pretty sure it's warmer than that.
Your temps are better than my xfx. To be honest my xfx card after 300 watts the efficiency drops off a cliff with my borderlands 4 testing so I usually put in a -10 power target and some other bits and bobs.

Damn, just had to arrange a return for my 9070XT Nitro + as the fan at the end won't spin up, used Trixx to diagnose and its informing me that the fan is faulty. I think its been faulty from the word go as my temps have never been great high 80s for hotspot and 90 for memory and I have a good large case with good airflow. OC have been great on phone so hopefully only a small amount of time without my card.
