Your oldest, but regularly used appliance?

My Zanussi washing machine is 33 years old. Admittedly for the first 5 years or so I was still taking my washing to my Mum's to do, but it has been used normally since then. I still only know one setting on it.

We have a very old Moulinex Classic electric carving knife -best buy ever - also got same make mincer.

Not sure if it counts as I've only been there 4 years but the boiler (Worcester Bosch combi) was fitted in 2007 and had a service done on it the other month and the engineer said inside is pristine and looks like new. So 18 years it's been going for so far. Unfortunately all my other appliances don't seem to last. In fact the best I've had was 9 years out of my first cheap fridge freezer from a Polish brand Amica bought in 2009. Everything else only about 5 years including a Bosch fridge freezer. That disappointed me.

That sounds like you should have pursued a case under he 2015 Consumer Rights Act, there is no way a fridge should only last 5 years.

Also got a 12 year old Beko dishwasher. Still working perfectly.
Samsung oven about 12 years old too. Had to replace one of the fan motors in it a while back.

If it's out of the warranty then I assumed that nothing could be done. I got back from holiday last year early August and the whole house stank where it had just stopped cooling. Both fridge and freezer sections. To say I was annoyed was an understatement. I'd recently bought a load of good quality meat from the butchers and stocked up on other frozen stuff. Good couple of hundred worth of food destroyed.

That's terrible luck, hopefully now you know that you have some come back if a similar thing should occur again in future!

Our Miele appliances are serving us well. The vacuum is 18 years old and the freezer is 19 years old.

I have a fan heater (Philips HD 3242) I use when working from home during the winter, not sure exactly how old it is but I remember using it in the 1990s, must be over 30 years old. Google suggests it's likely from the 80s. I imagine it's super inefficient by modern standards.

My dad's freezer I would guess is over 40 years old.
