any one had them and how do you get rid of them?

i notice them around my usually open window next to my bed side cabinet but cant find where their nesting or coming from, i dont even have a carpet in this room just a rug and i dont see any below in the kitchen, but have seen a influx of them in the last 4 weeks, just wtf and i no longer have any fish tanks in the house so i can spray pesticides if needed, and keep the cats away untill they settle:)

Best thing to do first is identify them. You might have bed bugs.

Do a Google lens on an image of one of the bugs to see what you have, then you can research the best was to get rid.

You answered it yourself.. they can fly so that's how they get in/are near windows

Had a mini infestation a few months ago, easiest way is to just hoover them up

Hoovering up is generally good practice too and won't hurt , they like to hide under objects that are just sitting around

at one place I lived for many years, beetles started appearing high on the curtains or a wall, not many just the odd one but fairly regular.

I went around at night looking around all the edges of carpet and found little grub things I stabbed with a screwdriver, they seemed to like the stair carpet best, maybe because it has the most crevices

did it for about a week and never saw another beetle again.

Once you work out what they are Diatomaceous earth will deal with them without having to use toxic chemicals.
it's still incredibly toxic even if its FOOD GRADE

it's SAFE TO EAT..... but if you breathe it in its bad for your lungs

and its going to float around in the air for awhile no matter how carefully you apply it.

once settled food grade is perfectly safe though unless you go around sniffing your carpet.

you can buy fumigator bombs as well that are just small bottles like 100ml or so, but they say to clean every surface after so i've never tried them.

Got any wool carpets or rugs or other kind of natural fibres? Because if not they're unlikely to be carpet beetles as they only feed on organic matter. As mentioned get some photos for identification
