ever met an s2000 owner? vtec this vtec that, horrible people. Add the fact that the cars are slow, much more expensive than equivalent mx5's and also quite a bit uglier too.

Toyota's version of vtec kicks a lot harder. The Honda engines from this era are great though. There were never any real successors to either of them.

I used to think the S2000 was cool but I don't think it aged well. Suddenly it looks really old. At least it's not as ugly as the MX5.

I like the solution to the frilly arches. Just cut them all out and add over fenders to hide it.

It does make sense to buy a rough one then restore it. I suspect the vast majority of S2000's are quite scabby underneath now.

I like the S2000, I was even looking to buy one years ago BUT I ended up Buying a Porsche Boxster 987 instead
