Recommendations for good sized gaming tables?

Ok, so I dont often wander into this forum, despite owning Warhammer 40k Leviathan and Warhammer 40k Indomitus, but this week I went on a bit of a boardgame spree and bought Terraforming Mars, Star Wars Rebellion, Descent Legends of the Dark, Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition and Gloomhaven 2nd Edition...now that they've all found their way onto my Warhammer shelving, its caused me to decide that its time to upgrade the table I use for gaming. Anyone have any good recommendations for tables? Needs to be one of those ones with the sunken playing area and a top that can go over it to turn it into a "normal" table, doesnt need to have anything particularly fancy on it aside from that, looking for something around 3ft by 5ft preferably and not of a price equivalent to a decent used car :)

i was going to suggest a rising frame so you can stand or sit, or using for some other stuff, but i dont think it would make for a good dinner table or something, and may be wont get it low enough

i just have a flat top 1.4m by 0.8m which im supposed to keep clear.. other wise honestly i use my bed when i need a bigger flat surface with some riggid boards to create a flat surface.
defo like your idea but i dont have the space for one of them

Settled on one of these in the end, except in a darker wood than the one in this photo.

I find circular tables way better as you can fit more than 4 around it easily if needed. 120-130cm is perfect. Also get one with with a centre column instead of legs and you won't have people banging their legs all the time.

Yeah I do really like the hexagonal/circular tables but the rectangular just fits in the room much better. Had I more space though I'd definitely have gone for one of the hexagonal "altar" style tables

A mate of mine checked a local charity shop for tables recently, turns out the place does a lot of ex-display and old warehouse stock as well as second hand so he nabbed a couple of big adjustable like-new office desks for less than £100 all in. Fitted them together with a plywood topper and it looks great, tons of space and with a little messing around it can be raised up or down as needed too.
