Arena Breakout? That's free, the paid stuff is cosmetics, battle pass and some mild pay 2 win stuff like larger container/loot space.

It's great fun for free, no need to spend a thing.

I'm looking forward to trying the free weekend and will likely be a pre-order for me. It's a genre I enjoy and I don't mind the third person part in this case personally, I'm an MMO fan, so enjoy seeing customer characterisation etc.

FYI it's not actually on a weekend, I believe it's Wed-Fri

Yet to see what modes there will be for release but it wouldnt be unusual for the genre for it to have solo, duo, trio options.

I never got into pvp extraction games but nothing but praise for this one so ill give it a go for that few days later in the month.
I do enjoy pve only extraction games though.

Yeah, it’s possible solo. I racked up a decent amount of hours in tech test 2 and whilst I queued as duo or trio, I think most of my play was solo.

You get matched with other solo players and I found solo players were more likely to either want to team up or happily ignore you to complete their quests. One of the more eerie moments i had was a solo night run where it felt like every open space there was a Bison just waiting for any players to risk crossing.

It definitely felt more intense solo but on the right side of that balance.
