*** The Official iPhone 17 thread (it has new camera bumps and everything!) ***

Bit of an update.

Took my air off of charge at about half 9 yesterday morning. By half 10ish in the evening I hit 50%. Seems okay to me ! Bout on par with my 15pro.

Im getting slightly better longevity vs my iPhone 15 Pro as well. Got one of those Anker Nano Slim MagSafe Qi2 Power Banks for those just in case moments when im in London.

I just got that Anker one too, but my Air is not taking charge. The battery pack is not the issue, it works fine with my wife’s iPhone 16.

I have a discontinued Apple battery pack lying around and that works fine with the Air… so strange.

Time to visit Apple for a fix or replacement.

Thats strange. Not got any % limit or anything like that ? Case not too thick etc etc ? Mine works well even with a leather case on it. Tried restarting the Air ?

Plus if a Mac Studio comes out with the M5 at some point next year I'd get more bang for my buck with that as I'm not a heavy mobile phone user and mainly use my desktop.
Didn't you say the same with the Studio M2, M3 and M4?
Make your mind up already

I am using the Apple clear case. I have tried soft reset and I don’t want to go full on reset, I don’t want to manually reinstall all of my apps.

Unplugged at 5am this morning. Currently sat at 72% with 2 and a half hour screen time.

Edit. Just hit 49% with 5:47min screen time. Much better than my 15pro

Was having my usual bedtime Amazon doom scroll and noticed the 17 in Black popped up for delivery this weekend, couldn’t resist :p
Back to OOS now it seems.

Does anyone have any experience using Amazon’s NorthLadder trade-in service? Just wondering if they’re easy to deal with, fair etc.

Ignore. Music Magpie will give me slightly more, and they don’t have a requirement for the battery to have more than 80% charge if you select “good” condition.

I ordered the 17 Pro 256GB in Deep Blue earlier.

Sleep well iPhone 12 Pro. You’ve been a good ‘un.

Really struggling to decide if I should upgrade or not

I've popped into the Apple Store and looked at them all and the 17/airs appeal for different reasons!

Currently on a 13 pro which is great but the new brighter screen and USBC would be nice - it's my last lightning cable device. 13p battery is 77% which is 'enough' for now seeing as it charges a few times in the day.

It's not essential by any means and I can get a new battery put in the 13, but the new 48mp's appeal - but again not essential as I carry a quality camera with me everywhere anyway...........Literally bored of it being a brain worm and won't leave my head - is it just marketing ruining my mind?!

The SOS with satellite appeals also as I'm out in the wilderness an awful lot.

17 - appeals as a solid all rounder and actually a good price, sort of - £24 a month after trade in
Air - just feels amazing in the hand and perfect size screen for me - only missing some cameras, otherwise very nice - I use my AirPods a lot so not sure im that bothered about a single speaker. £32 a month post trade in
17pro - yes amazing, has it all, and the raw files would be nice on images, great battery, etc - £45 a month after trade in

All prices are for currently available phones in nearest stores.

STUCK - HALP, otherwise do I just keep the 13 another year.

@Combat squirrel , if the pro has all the bells and whistles you need - it might be worth just going that one.

I have the air and absolutely love it. Haven’t had much screen time today, but unplugged at 5am and only just hit 78% now. So the battery is good (for me)

Perhaps grab an air - try it out until the return period then decide if it’s not for you ?

I wish I could go into a store and get a feel for the new devices in the hand but any stores near me are all Network Providers and the iPhones are kept in those stupid fixed security cradles. I have been round 3 branches of currys/cpw, O2, EE and Vodafone and am yet to be able to actually pick one up

Yeh the air appeals most as good in the hand and screen size; everything else is the same anyway - what case you got? I’d want a mega slim one or just a bumper case to keep the slim profile.

I’ve got this Mous aramid 1.1mm thick case.

It’s very unobtrusive and protects it decently.

Edit. I usually go with pitaka but couldn’t find it for sale at the time of buying my phone.
