Slow Horses

Finished s2.

Brilliant TV.

Gary Oldman is spectacular.
More and more on their back storyand an overall great chaotic twisty Russian story.
Extremely well done.

S3 is abysmally bad tv imo, just unbelievably stupid at times. I know it’s not a super serious show but even with that in mind it was some painful viewing. Numerous facepalm scenes. Don’t get me started on the shootout scenes in the final episode, dear lord what were they thinking lol.

S1 and S2 were okish but now have serious doubts about watching season four.

I am on the 4th book - Spook Street. Superb with amazing characters. Lots of humour and highly recommended for anyone with an interest in the tv series.

Finished season 3....

Umm for my tastes it jumped the shark again on the last episode. I thought the same about s2 aswell.

Way too "Hollywood" but overall great still.

Friend tells me s4 is a return to "spy stuff" probably start that tonight.

S3 felt a tiny bit like a low budget mission impossible almost :p

Finished season 4

an interesting plot for "the main character" but it felt like the wider cast had not too much to do until the end.

Still great TV. With some big name actors coming in.

Little rinse of characters now and then is good for the show but this seasons new ones are way OTT. Tbh they all are so i guess its fitting :p

Looking forward to 5 but might wait till its all out before starting.

I watched the first 2 series when I had a trial of apple TV but there wasnt enough other stuff to interest me so I ditched Apple

Just started this show, on season 2 now, what an underrated gem this is. The only thing I don't like is the HDR effect (not sure on the actual term for it) on some of the scenes?

This first episode didn't quite have the dialogue punch I'm used to from the series, although maybe I'm looking at previous seasons through rose tinted glasses.
Good setup for the season's story though. Looking forward to the next one!

I sighed when I saw the story thinly veiled premise for S5, come on, this was so much fun before, I hope this is not going to be another lecture. I wouldn't **** on Farage if he was on fire, but I don't want an the nose "modern day politics" season. I truly hope it broadens out from this into something really interesting
