Slow Horses

I sighed when I saw the story thinly veiled premise for S5, come on, this was so much fun before, I hope this is not going to be another lecture. I wouldn't **** on Farage if he was on fire, but I don't want an the nose "modern day politics" season. I truly hope it broadens out from this into something really interesting
Yeah I'm not gonna lie I also was a bit.... Oh god here we go, a little bit close to "the real world" right now.

Had a Google....
About the Book
Title: London Rules

Im terrible for what was going on 10-11 years ago but I dont think too much has really changed since then, just politically intensified? Brexit inspired but redone for the current political BS.?

First episode: opening was good, then a lot of meh.

Second episode: much better.

I'm not saying they should be super spies, but the Slough House team are wastes of space. MH issues, drug issues and just plain incompetent. I've worked with the Security Services and tbh, some of them have brains the sizes of planets, even the ones out on the ground are intelligent people. Is this poetic licence for the TV or are they as bad as this in the books?

I appreciate they are agents moved out of the Park, but they are just bumbling imbeciles.

That’s the point. But not quite. Don’t treat it as a documentary and enjoy the ride.

Good episode this week, lots of twists and turns.

River is annoying this season, moody, whiney, incompetent and underused. I liked when he was a good agent, but sabotaged one, now he's just become one of the incompetents. Maybe that's what Slough House does to them all!

It's still entertaining; I wouldn't call it a chore to get through but it's definitely not up to the quality of the preceding seasons. Whelan is confusing me; he seems incredibly potent in specific situations but frustratingly incompetant in others.

Does it get considerably better after season 1 ? I watched S1 and thought it was pretty average stuff but noticed it’s rated quite highly so presume it improves a fair bit ?
This season is the first one I felt was below par. Maybe ive just got used to the format im not sure. Either way I feel its got a bit predictable.

.

Just watched the last episode and it was really poor. Aside from Gary Oldman, the characters are just becoming silly charactures of themselves. Turning more into a sitcom.
I know they're in Slough House but why can't they be decent at their job at least some of the time rather than stumbling into everything.
The whole I.T. and code part was just plain stupid and so poorly thought through, just to get to the end situation. The writing is very poor.

Current season watchable, although missing some depth and feels like it's the weakest plot. Just need to watch the final episode.

Just the final Episode to watch i this season and I am liking it a lot, Dunno if it because it's a good season or just because there is not much else out at the moment.

Looking forward to watch the final after work today.
