Premium Bonds - If you post to say how much you've won, please also say how much you have invested.

Heh, someone mentioned this before about their winnings going up over the course of the day. Was £50 when I checked, but had £250 deposited in my account.

I have received my crisp £125 today

I sniffed it to check it was real, i then transferred it to my secondary account. Where it shall remain until i can think what to do with it

Usual check today of a big win, always interesting to see who's won with what:

This is literally what im thinking of doing. Withdraw 1000 and spend an evening buying £1 or £2 bonds . I must have a chance

Can you do that these days though? Thought it was £25 min. Fine back in the 70s but they expect you to buy more in one go these days! :p

I can't remember. I think the last time I bought bonds was over a year and a half ago now.

I think the minimum amount now is £25. Though each bond is worth £1

Ok 2500 should give you 100 x 25s.

It must work

Not sure I follow the logic here.
Withdrawing 1000 (premium bonds?) and buying £1000 of 1s and 2s would be swapping 1000 premium bonds for 1000 premium bonds.
2500 does give you 100 x 25s, it also gives you 2500 x 1s or 5 x 500s, or whatever way you want to divide up 2500.

The only thing you can do to increase your chances of winning is holding more bonds, there is no buying pattern you can employ that will make any difference.

I did see a pattern when I was able to pay in to it . Over the years I worked out I was getting better prizes and more frequently if I was to buy them at the end of the month before the draw on 1st or 2nd or 3rd.

Also . Noticed differences in £1k Vs 3k
