Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Personally I tend to avoid biotech investments because they are basically pure speculation. The chances of getting blockbuster drugs to market are extremely low.

I only bought into AstraZeneca because it was in the gutter, like a lot of stocks, straight after Trump busted out his tariff board.

Whilst I said I think there will be an AI bust at some point (next few years), I don't think it's coming that soon, because what's happening is Powell is dropping rates / doing QE more soon, and this will pump stocks, so in the short term AI will get pumped further in my view.
What if what looks like a bubble is really just a horse race of AI jockeys? Most people will back the wrong horse because it’s hard to pick winners.
Historically, every so-called bubble leaves behind 1–3 companies that not only survive but thrive once the competition is gone. That’s not collapse that’s consolidation.

do bubbles even really exist these days? they become bubbles because everyone knows they are going to be a massive part of life going forward.

it's the crazy people picking the tulips that are the problem.

The trouble with Intel, is that they are so far behind TSMC and AMD, I don’t know how they can be cutting edge again.

Amazing isn't it. It feels like only a few years ago that Intel was on top of the world and AMD was struggling to stay relevant. I very keenly remember the long-ass wait for Bulldozer to come out, only for it to be absolutely trounced by Intel. I was an AMD fanboi like no other and waited, and waited, and waited. Delay after delay and when that series launched, it was basically stillborn. It was only when the FX6300 launched that they started clawing back some ground.

Oh how the tables have turned.

A few months ago I considered dumping my Intel shares when they were in the red - glad I didn't as they're up 71% from my original investment. Even Tesla has rebounded up 24% from way back.

Same - up 53% on Intel and 51% on Tesla since I bought them

Long term holds in my pension happy to let them go for now.

I absolutely love the fact that you're a fully grown man acting like a toddler because you got dug up for acting like a prat on an internet forum.

Absolutely fantastic. Quite warm and spacious in this head of yours, you sure you don't want me to pay rent? ;)

Hardly care. You made out I’m sat at home like you are with no life. I mentioned I’m not and you seemed to them use it against me. Enjoy the manga porn

And then what? You'll hafta help me out here, I'm clearly quite far behind you as I've not reached the "whining on a forum whilst in Istanbul" stage of my "enjoying life" journey, can you enlighten me pls.

Remind me what you do ?

I'm unemployed. I sit on the sofa eating doritos all day and enjoying your tax money.

Anyway, the mods are cleaning up our mess so I'll just apologise that they had to do this and go back to my sad little life.

Have a wonderful time "enjoying life" in Istanbul <3

Apologies @Armageus

AstraZeneca is a bit different because it's massive and has so many products. I'm talking about the small biotechs chasing the next wonderdrug. Investing in small biotech really is very wishful investing.

I haven't looked into it recently, but I'm thinking that strategically the US government will get behind Intel in some way to make sure they get back to being competitive.

I haven't looked at it closely but what remains unclear to me is where all the revenue will come from with AI. A lot of the model usage is currently free. I use Microsoft Copilot search a lot and it saves me time, but would I pay for it? Probably not. There are massive amounts of money being spent, but where is the massive payback?

its not free for business use like most software, and if your using free stuff you usually only own the input.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

£23.10
user/month, paid yearly
Or £24.26 paid monthly
(Annual commitment)

Price does not include VAT.

most of the money is private companies wanting agent ai making decisions without human input essentially replacing jobs

PLTR seem to still be making a hell of a lot of money from supply chain management and inventory crap.

i got back in to dvlt on the dips , well as close as i could ,i saw they have a massive short interest so a chance of a squeeze short term but also i have seen targets between 3 and 11 dollars , i have a nice buffer as just yesterday i went up 1.1k but my big fault usually is selling too soon so i will try not to panic if it tanks but average down again
i am really addicted to this trading (sometimes losing) thing
