Anyone own an Alienware AW2725D? My monitor has seen better days and I fancy an upgrade to an OLED. This seems like a bargain compared to most OLED's.
To throw another wrench in, Dell has a 15% off promo right nowThe tandem displays do look interesting and they have been getting very good reviews. If they are priced well then it seems like one of those is the way to go.
I was thinking about waiting for GIGABYTE MO27Q28G, but the Alienware for £430 seams a good deal.To throw another wrench in, Dell has a 15% off promo right now
Yeah its tough really, on 1 hand the Dell should be solid and you have probably best CS for a OLED monitor, on otherhand the Gigabyte will be brighter, TB500 + 1500 peak IIRC vs TB400 + 1000, not sure how ABL is on Gigabyte but I know on my AW3225QF the Peak1000 mode feels useless outside of stuff like Night City in CP2077, dark areas/games basically to get the HDR pop, once you play something bright like Horizon Forbidden West the ABL kicks in so much that its dimmer then TB400 mode and most of the QD OLEDs are similar experienceI was thinking about waiting for GIGABYTE MO27Q28G, but the Alienware for £430 seams a good deal.
Yeah was thinking if its around the £500 mark would be a great buy, was hoping we would have had some news about release by now. Since it was meant to be 30th september.Yeah its tough really, on 1 hand the Dell should be solid and you have probably best CS for a OLED monitor, on otherhand the Gigabyte will be brighter, TB500 + 1500 peak IIRC vs TB400 + 1000, not sure how ABL is on Gigabyte but I know on my AW3225QF the Peak1000 mode feels useless outside of stuff like Night City in CP2077, dark areas/games basically to get the HDR pop, once you play something bright like Horizon Forbidden West the ABL kicks in so much that its dimmer then TB400 mode and most of the QD OLEDs are similar experience
I guess only thing is when will the Gigabyte be ready and what price at launch? if its £500 then it'll be a bloody good monitor if you don't mind the matte coating anyway
You might notice the text clarity and brightness isn't what your used too but you'll soon forget about that when you actually game, especially in a darker game if your into horror for exampleYeah was thinking if its around the £500 mark would be a great buy, was hoping we would have had some news about release by now. But coming from a 7 year old ips, even if i get the dell it should be hopefully a big jump in picture
Yeah deffo, would be perfect price. Will have to try and find it.@Fickle you can get the Dell for £365 apparently, I think that's deffo way to go
Just check HotUKDeals, I would link it but dunno if it'll break the rulesYeah deffo, would be perfect price. Will have to try and find it.
No worries, I'm kinda tempted to grab 1 myself haha, I've been thinking of going back to 27 + 1440p for awhile now, 4K is lovely especially in older/easier to run games but lot of newer titles I'm needing DLSS Performance just to get the bare minimum FPS I'm comfortable with (80-90'ish)Yeah cheers found it, thanks for that
