Alien TV series (Alien Earth) : 2025

The biggest cliffhanger left with the last episode is where does it go from here if there is a season 2?

With WY on their way and the island now under the control of the angry man-kids are they just going to cheep/chirp their way through anybody they come across?

The eyeball creature reanimating Arthur, can hardly mingle and getaway with a massive hole in his chest?

What about the other species, no real intent or cliffhanger ending associated with them either?

I swear TV shows and movies are getting dumber. I'm not sure if that's because they are assuming they need to dumb it down for the audience, or if the writers are all talentless morons :p I'm leaning more towards the latter.

I need to go back and rewatch some proper intelligently written sci-fi like Dark :)

At the start of the year it came out Netflix were doing it on purpose:

Wouldn't surprise me if other studios follow suit, writers won't be helping either especially if it's US writers, just look at how many shows are going against their source material and / or have bad writing in the last 5 years.

To be fair...they're not wrong, so many people do just have stuff on in the background whilst they do other stuff. A lot of folks arent actually "watching" per se.

So what I gather from interviews with the producer or whoever, humans are the enemy, the aliens are like misunderstood dogs that are the real victims.

It's star ship troopers all over again, the left aways side with the bugs, or aliens in this case.

They need to stop letting these people mess with established franchises. When will they learn?

I suppose if you spin it round, technically, Alien is a movie about how we go to some planet, find some animals eggs and start poking and prodding them, then when the egg hatches and procreates we immediately start chasing it around a ship trying to kill it, only to find that its now grown up and able to fight back, despite us outnumbering it 8 to 1.

When you consider it that way, doesnt make us seem much like the good guys :D

It's all about hyper capitalism and fascist corporations Vs Marxist hive comrades. XLM. Xenomorph lives matter!

I honestly believe this is why you often see a lot more glowing reviews from people who have seen a movie in the cinema vs home viewing.

Especially in threads here.

One example, the most recent Fantastic Four. Initial reviews in that thread were quite positive, but people watching on the high seas gave it much more average-poor reviews.

This might be the first time I really hope a show gets cancelled!

I just hope they get their act together if there is a season 2, there is a lot of things they did nail despite the writing being idiotic and insulting to people's intelligence. They could have done the ship based stuff as a whole season and I think it would have been widely well received.

I don’t think you’ve quite grasped the message of the films mate. It’s certainly not a ringing endorsement of capitalism :p

I thought the last episode was let down. I quite enjoyed the series as a whole, yes it has its issues but in the main I thought it was okay. Shame the last episode felt like more like a penultimate episode rather than a season finale.
