Isn’t the Ceramic Shield 2 more scratch resistant than a screen protector?
Maybe, but I can replace this screen protector for free, versus paying apple £389.

I work in fields a lot and sometimes not the nicest of environments, so worth it to me. First time I'm using one in circa 10 years, my 13PM got a bit beaten up by scratches just from being in my pocket alone.

Good point, a screen protector is case-by-case, some can get away without one.

Don't you have to buy a new screen protector, so it wouldn't really be free? Also it's not £389 with AC+, it's £25 which is less than you pay for a replacement screen protector and you get the additional benefits AC+ offers on top.

What screen protectors do you get at upwards of £25? :D I just get the £6.99 ones from amazon and they’re flawless every time!

Apple do an in store belkin one for £35. If it breaks you can request a free replacement. My wife did it last year.

It has lifetime warranty so free replacements, AC+ is £11.99 a month + £25 excess anyhow so ends up being almost the cost of a screen replacement over 2 years anyhow. :)

Admittedly I've never lost a phone or whatever else but covered for theft on travel insurance etc!

Pretty happy with it as it feels identical to the original screen to me, and I can't even see it! :P

17PM turned up yesterday, I totally missed it had a camera button now. I like that addition, phone feels good but it'll take me a while to get used to the size of it coming from the 15P.

Battery life seems great so far.

The standard AC+ policy does not include theft protection. But then travel insurance does not cover everything else AC+ does, such as accidental damage (not just limited to the screen). They also tend to just give you refurb units via the advanced exchange option so you end up with a new phone in case you have any issues. You're essentially covered for much more than just the screen.

Oh I see, my bad - I thought it was Apple Care and then AC+ was the extra bits for loss/theft.

Not too stressed about accidental damage, not broken a phone yet, just scratches here and there on my last! :P

Pick up a base 17 in white later. Wasn’t planning to swap my 15 Pro but a few things swayed me.

- iOS 26 doesn’t run buttery smooth on the 15 Pro.
- I run my phone case less and prefer a white phone, my 15 Pro is black.
- Battery life is tanking on iOS 26. Regularly dying in a day at home. Wouldn’t last a day out in London.
- 17 is bigger but weighs less.
- 256gb.

Opposite for me. I’m waiting on my black 17 to replace my white 15PM. It should have been available for collection at Argos today but storm Amy looks to have put paid to that so fingers crossed for Monday.

I am fully aware it makes little logical sense and I unashamedly admit it’s mostly a case of wanting a new shiny.
However, in defence of the swap, I have never been a Pro user and only ever bought the Pro phones because the 120hz display was the one feature I wanted. Now that the base models have it it’s one less reason to continue using a Pro. My one concern is dropping down in screen size but I’m hoping the overall smaller size and weight reduction will just make it much more pleasant experience in general.

Time will tell.
