What "man jobs" have you done today?

6 loads of laundry, 6 lots of uniform ironed ready for the week, 6 packed lunches made for the morning...

...brother-in-law best be making the most of his golf trip, coz I'll be seriously considering dumping our three on his doorstep with zero notice, so he knows exactly how it feels!

Fitted new fill & flush valves to the toilet. The fill valve failed a week ago, and the flush valve has been seeping water for months, so well due to be done. Now fills quicker and quieter, and flushed better, top result :p

Put some bits up in the loft. Changed a few batteries in Zigbee sensors.

Spent most of the day yesterday having a good clear out and sort out in my cabin. Getting on top of a few random jobs.

Feels nice to achieve a few things. I often procrastinate the weekends away.

Insulated and ply lined the new summer house and threw some decking up (post sticking out is just a loose bit)
Summer house was £150 on FB , had an EPDM roof now and sitting on a ton of gravel

Things have moved on an awful lot since I last posted; I've started cladding the walls now. The roof membrane went on really well except for one tiny ruck where the glue dried too quickly and I couldn't smooth it properly :(. Still, very happy with it overall. Now for some hardie planking.

Nice work @rodders, very neat!

...and we are weather tight!

Waiting for the foam to go off properly then I'll trim it down. Stupidly only picked up a single can, so can't fill around the window now, that'll have to wait. Still the next big job is boarding out and plastering. What fun!

Got the 9 tog duvet out from the cupboard to add to the 4 tog and made the bed. Sounds simple, but 45cm deep superking mattress & bedding, plus ridiculously heavy goose down duvet makes it a bit of an event...

Still, at least we'll be cozy.

I feel your pain with the mattress - King Size Silentnight Geltex 3000 here and it comes in at 65kg in weight  Proper job to change the bedding on that tart :o

Aint no reason for a mattress to be that heavy

where are you Alaska? lol
Feels like it - Wife is Canadian, so you'd think our relatively mild winters wouldn't bother her, but she'd happily have the full 13 Togs all year round. She's from Edmonton, Alberta, where it can drop to -30°C!

Whereas I run hot and sleep with either just a sheet or my silk cooling blanket, unless it's actually sub-zero.

Women are weird.

Front door handle was catching and was quiten loose, got a new one from B&Q and swapped out within 5 minutes.

Never done it before and thought it would be difficult but it’s extremely easy!

Moved the TV and pulled the massive cabinet out, measured and marked up fixings for a wall mount. Decided I need bigger plugs and some washers, have to finish it Monday. Nice and productive... I'll try the thermostat next before dinner.

Decided my Lego (mostly Star Wars Lego) was sprawling through the man cave / my home office

Four Ikea units, lots of swearing and rubber malleting due to the sod all +/-mm tolerance and some timber mound later (will fill, sand and paint some other time)

Originally had the Pixel Dan Millennium Falcon in, leaned up against the back but felt far too precarious so is on the desk, for now, until I can find a good wall mount solution
