UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th Sept - 2nd October 2025]

Just seen Celtic's disallowed goal. VAR not fit for purpose if they couldn't see it hitting his face rather than arm.

Thats potentially one of the worst decisions I have ever seen from VAR which is saying something. Most of the time we are talking about awful but fundamentally either subjective or complicated decisions but absolutely nothing about that looked like handball.

What's Nunez got to do with anything? Liverpool got offered a massive fee and took it.

Of course I'm taking a swing at United - they signed him for £64million at aged 20. Gave him 5/6 year deal - He's a long term project at that age... They have then effectively discarded him 18 months after just 60 appearances.

Where's the coaching of young players gone? He got almost no support/supply on the pitch in terms of crosses / thru balls etc.

Even in the first few games with Sekso - it appears to be a very similar tune.... Lack of quality supply from the midfield etc - Not a lack of quality from the striker as we can't judge them at the moment as they are hardly seeing the ball.

like @sigma said above - changing the striker doesn't appear to have helped any - it appears to be just more of the same again....

He wanted to be number 1, with game time and also had a pull back to italy. This isn't united discarding him. it's a relationship that both mutually decided wasn't what they wanted. You're taking swings at one side.

Conversely we could say 'what a chump, he got a bit of competition for place and fled to a farmers league.'

However neither your perspective or that is taking in the full situation as we have been told.

And why Nunez, because it's a similar situation... Prospective talent, was bought for more and sold for relatively less, did they discard him because he wasn't as effective?

Nunez £85m > £53million (£32Million loss) / Hojlund - £64 - £43m (21million loss)

You are consistently incorrect, it's amazing. He was happy to stay and fight for his place, the club forced him out.
