Whats the best AIO you can get, my case is mesh so I don't need one with a screen or bright colours. If it happens that the best one does have all them features then that's okay.
No budget, I'm just after the best.

Arctic freezer usually tops the charts, but a great cheaper option (the artic freezer doesn’t fit all motherboards) would be pretty much anything form Thermalright.

Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro, either the 360MM or the 420MM. It is proven to match and even beat basically everything on the market, in both performance and silence!

Make sure your case has enough clearance for the chunkier than normal rad+fan combo IIRC it's 68MM in total, and that your motherboard clears - the Arctic website has a compatability chart for motherboards, so that covers you there. Case wise, just look up other peoples builds/reviews online and try and find one with said AIO - that's all I did when scoping for a case that'd fit one ;)

Hope this helps!

I am getting the

Fractal Design North XL Full Tower

I have seen on pcparpicker using that arctic AIO in these cases, guess I better see if my motherboard supports it.

Nice, that's one down then :)
Yeah Arctic's website is pretty darn useful having that option to instantly find out :)

Gonna throw a curve ball into the mix

I mean, you cant really loose with them at the moment bang per buck wise :)

I do think they have far too many products competiting against themselves though.

The Phantom Spirit had an extra heatpipe and supposid better fans than the Peerless Assassin, but in reality IIRC in the real world was only 1C better when tested?

It's strange that they also offered a 140MM version of the Peerless Assassin, but not the Phantom Spirit, despite it being the successor and more expensive? And yet we now randomly have another 6 not 7 heatpipe successor again with a 13CM fan?
The weird thing is, no one ever talks about the Phantom Spirit, yet the Peerless Assassin is still mentioned?

They just need to keep it simple and release an RGB and non RGB version of a product and leave it at that lol. The Peerless Assassin has the normal version, then the 120SE, RGB, 140MM, and black/white? That's a bit overwhelming for a simple purchase to a new customer haha. The seem to do the same with their AIO's.

AIO's, for a particular sized radiator are close enough in performance that the included fans make more difference than anything else. Get whatever's priced well and some good static pressure fans... instant best AIO.

Yes I get it but.... Different strategies

While There comes a point with only marginal increases in performance the extra heat pipe, fans, etc for example calling there coolers peerless assassin reversion 1 revision 2 for example may not be enticing enough for the consumer but works for Arctic.

Sythe did revisions with some of there air coolers which I believe helped in there Downturn, sythe murgen 6 example consumer don't seem to talk or reccomend it , at least not on this forum .

But by the time you've paid for extra fans, you may as well have just bought the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro and saved yourself money and hassle, as it is the best AIO currently, and beats everything in silence, performance and price. So it's pointless trying to 1 UP it or make a hybrid with different fans.

just to point out it’s not really the case that impacts the Artic Freezer it’s the motherboard specifically ones with big M2 cooling south of the CPU.

That said my ASUS was probably one of the most extreme big Heatsinks and I just mounted it inverted works totally fine just don’t mess with the offset L and R brackets. Very good cooler from my experience.

There is a list on the artic site with what they know does or doesn’t fit as it comes out the box recommended mount.

Oh no, wasn't saying "don't get the freezer" just a mild irritated jab against the usual £80 240mm 20mm thick arctic vs the £150 240mm 20 thick nzxt with all the sheep jumping on the better marketed one at nearly double the price for near F all benefit. Was a broader strokes moan/offer of advice, hence not replying to anyone in particular :)

Out of the box, absolutely the freezer for price/etc.

Not strictly true, as if you don't have enough height in the top for the thicker 68MM setup of the Arctic, you will foul on the front case fans too.

Ok well it’s one of the things to think about, but I’ve got mine mounted in probably the way they least recommend and it’s totally fine. It’s totally fine mounted front etc, I really think with an AIO the notion you need the rads above the pump is a bit bs since it’s brimmed with fluid and sealed…

I also modified it a bit but that’s not related to it fitting.

Yeah, I nearly bought a Kraken, then was gutted to find out the fans are pretty loud and apparently rather annoying
Then when I saw the Arctic destroy it along with everything else, at nearly half the price... It was a no brainer :D
