Are Asrock P/S popular ?

can't see many places in the UK selling them, interested in the ones with temp sensors on the GPU cables (for a 5090)

Alternative method for reassurance on the gpu cable temps or to somehow monitor it ?

I saw that too and thought it was a good idea. Have you checked out any reviews? That would be my first port of call. I think I may have actually read some already given I was looking at the the Phantom Gaming PSU as well. This is the 1000W model which I don't think is enough for a 5090, but you get the idea. The cons list is pretty short!

EDIT: 1600W review here:

Makes mention that the manufacturer is FSP.

"The ASRock PG-1600G PSU demonstrated exceptional electrical performance across various loads, providing stable and high-quality power delivery. The voltage regulation was impressively tight...The ripple suppression was equally outstanding on the 12V rail...The minor voltage lines are not as well regulated, with 28 mV on the 5V rail and 26 mV on the 3.3V rail, but still very well within our expected performance parameters.
The protection mechanisms performed flawlessly, with the OCP thresholds set at 122% for the 3.3V rail, 124% for the 5V rail, and 122% for the 12V rail. The Over Power Protection (OPP) is triggered at 120% under hot conditions, ensuring the unit remains safe under demanding usage scenarios. These protection levels align with the expectations for a unit of this class."

Let me know what it is like as if my next GPU uses that connector I'll be replacing mine also. Even though this antec PSU is like 6 months old.

Phantom Gaming - FSP
Steel Legend - HEC although a new high end design using quality components. I would buy one and I have always slated HEC, it's nice to see them turn out something of quality.

I have been speaking to Asrock about them as I saw the prototypes at a trade show earlier in the year.

They are on my to do list at the moment so will likely come to OcUK once I have had a chance to firm up supply and make sure the commercials allow us to price them well for you.

The appearance of the units they are producing is very good. The components on the supplies look better than average and from my research the internals are decent quality according to the reviews I have seen.

Warranty is also pretty generous at 10 years on the Steel Legend models and above. 5 Years on the Challenger range.

They look to have reasonably good efficiency with only a few outlets reporting max ripple being a point for improvement.

Thanks for the update. I enquired recently about them but heard nothing back so this is good to know.
