The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

so I caved in and decided to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut [wrt my vram max clocking multiple screen issue]
i also wanted to try the lossless scalling multi gpu frame gen thing just for a bit of a laugh
i almost forgot i wanted to do this when i noticed an obscure gpu model from sapphire that looks like a baby version of my pure 9070xt
this is probably the only time a 6500xt 4gb is ever going to make any sense
and yes i paid full whack for it but it matches my main card and looks so cute and im not exactly the most sane sensible person on the planet
they didnt make a 9080xt or 9070xtx or whatever the next model up would have been called this is the closest i can get lol
debating whether to go dual vertical or just normally mounting the 2 gpus
anyway well off topic just thought id update the few people who were trying to help me a couple of weeks ago lol

Just ordered an ASrock 9070 xt tiachi from a competitor. I buy most of my parts from here but at such a price(£598.99) could not resist :D

I keep being tempted by a Powercooler Red Devil 9070XT for £572 and selling my 7800XT to soften the blow.

But then again my 7800XT does a fine job at 1440p, so I imagine the longer I wait the cheaper 9070 XT’s will become but then the value of my 7800XT will also drop…

Very much undecided!

According to tech powerup it’s approx 41% faster from a raster perspective. Whether it’s worth it is up to you.

If it's the red devil i saw at that price. They add vat at checkout..

Thanks for that, I’m leaning towards the upgrade but still undecided at the minute.

My 7800XT is the Sapphire Nitro+ with 2 Years Warranty remaining, so I imagine it would sell easily on the MM.

Will the release of bf6 this Friday require a new AMD driver..the latest had no mention of BF6, i know they did release one for beta just not sure if thats it. I don't want to me messing with drivers on game release day...bugger had to edit this apology in i thought i was on the driver thread

Cheers

You'll be fine playing BF6 on your current drivers.

They will probably release a new driver that's optimised for BF6 before the 10th If they don't the drivers your using now will be fine

I have just fitted my Taichi 9070xt and it is a tight fit in the case , not the length but the width. The 12volt power cable is fairly tight and the cable is bent up against the glass of the case. I am trying to get a 90 deg converter but can only find unnamed brands that i don't trust. Has anybody got any suggestions please?

I recently changed my wife's card over from a Powercolor 6900XTU to a 9070XT Nitro+. Very happy with it so far! It's built like a bloody tank. I've applied a UV/OC and performance is very strong. It's damn quiet as well however there is some cool whine when FPS is high. I'm waiting to see if it settles down as it's only got about 4 hours gaming time.

We both run 9800X3D CPUs but I've got a RTX 5090 and I'm impressed at how well it performs for a "cheap" card. I suspect she will end up running BF6 on the exact same settings as well :D

Upgrade the case? :)

TBH I find installing the drivers a breeze now, given that you don't have to do a mandatory reboot and all your settings just carry across. Although I have noticed a quirk (might just be me) where the anisotropic filtering resets itself back to x2 and not x16. But from downloading to installing, re-applying your saved OC/UV, it takes a few minutes and away you go! :)

Exactly - Itching away here :D
I'm staying strong. I have my savings pot on the go which is coming along nicely, so come Q2 '26 I'll have funds to hopefully use on the new UDNA range. If they are good. Which of course they will be. AMD would never let me down. The 6900XT has served me well but I am relying on frame gen and FSR more so, since moving to 4K.
