So Slot says teams have worked out how to play us and we need to do something different so we do exactly the same thing all game and get get caught repeatedly the same way. Genius.

I fear its going to be more results like this for a little while before Liverpool work things out. Looking at the way Palace are playing at the moment and the way Liverpool are playing, if I was Guehi I'd sign a new Palace contract rather than join Liverpool right now.

Slot needs to work this out fast, he needs to start hunting around for a proper Konate replacement, he needs to figure out what to do with Wirtz and Isak because at the moment it doesnt really seem like theres a plan for how to best utilise either of them. Kerkez needs to be replaced by Robertson for a proper run in the team, Salah needs dropping for a bit. Chiesa needs ro be starting and the centre of midfield needs shoring up as Mac Allister isnt on form

In other words, we should have prioritised a CDM and CB over Wirtz and Isak, which was my view all summer.

Again, no issue with either of them and I hope they're great players for us. But I think the transfer strategy was poor.

Liverpool arent winning the title this year, I'll say that now. 20% through the league season now and we havent played a single good game yet and I'd say its going to be at least another 5 to 7 games before we start playing well, by which time it will be heading toward half way through the season. I think a domestic cup is the best we'll manage trophywise this season (though Palace will probably knock us out of one of those at the end of this month)
 
Despite the hysteria, we didn't play that badly today and shouldn't have lost that game. We weren't great but we created more and better chances throughout the game but too many players are just miles off it right now. I mentioned last week that Salah's a concern and he continued to cause concern today - not only does accommodating him result in our RB position constantly being under pressure but he's not delivering the goods in attack. He's not alone either. Gakpo, depsite his goal has been terrible and you can't keep pointing to injury issues with Mac Allister either.
