Interesting to see McLaren seemingly losing their dominance

Fully expect s Max win. Title race is on
As has been discussed before I think the street tracks don’t suit this years McLaren — or at least doesn’t play to their strengths of tyre management. Austin onwards should show us the true picture.

I just worry that Lando and Oscar are dropping more points than they should, and are going to make it worse than it should be for the remainder of the season.

I’m flying tomorrow so will miss it. As much as I’d like George to win on pure merit, I’m kinda thinking him and Max will have some kind of altercation and if that lets Oscar through then so be it :p

God no.. let it be anyone else ;)
When the only other options are the two McLaren drivers, I’d rather the FIA just draw a name out of a hat, where the hat only contains Max, Lewis and Alonso’s name. Far less boring than the current situation.

I think the fact Max is at the sharp end show's that Red Bull have indeed found some pace.
They were desperate 2 weeks ago to suggest that they hadn't but that car now looks fast on high speed and non high speed tracks.

McLaren may well have a fight on their hands and I'm here for it.

Red Bull are looking racier and will close the deficit but as I posted in the last race thread, if Verstappen wins every race with Piastri 3rd every race, Max would win by 1 point. So McLaren won’t be able to take it easy to the end of the season but don’t see an actual title fight happening without some bad luck/DNF’s.

An interesring qualifying and great laps by Russell. It amazes me how we’re getting to the end of these regulations and performance still seems to so up and down for teams - moreso than I remember previously similar periods.

Yeah because McLaren haven't won at any street tracks this year at all right?

Few races left, no real development left to come of the cars, but still waiting to find the true picture at a non street track?
Maybe read what Stella has said post qualifying- https://www.foxsports.com.au/motors...s/news-story/0f1fe1c87c877a0b3972fb5bec56a36a

Sorry for the Fox link but it’s the first I found with the quotes.

I’m not saying it’ll be business as usual after this race but it sounds like McLaren have seen a pattern in the bumpy, street circuits.

Entertaining race 2 in the F1 Academy with a brilliant pass for the win on the final lap, on a wet track with the cars on slick tyres. Good win for Weug and Pin looked disappointed to lose that.

Sets up for a nice finale in Vegas.

I still think Singapore is an outlier track, so might see things change after this, but it’s also a very different track to the last 2 so it does look promising.

Will only be a good thing for the sport if he is able to stay in contention.

Would be nice if Max could get a win today and McLarens to DNF just to make rest of the season more interesting. Still want Oscar to win WDC

Shame about Williams, was hoping for another good weekend for them.

Anyone at the track? What's the weather doing?

p.s. all of the images are the opening post are now gone. This is always the problem with using external hosting services due to OCUKs rules. Shame.

I was using IMGUR until it got blocked in the UK last week; went back to the host I used to use. Will need to investigate a better replacement

Wish I could watch this, I'm in hospital with nothing to do apart from lay here, but the internet is so so ****, I can't stream it properly.
Tried the qualifying yesterday, 15 seconds fine, 15 seconds not, rinse and repeat, did nothing for the blood pressure lol

So I'll be in here and on BBC F1 play by play.

FIA Stewards - Incident involving Albon will be investigated after the race - Failing to follow race directors instructions - Practice start infringement
