Corsair RMe Series 1200W died.

Corsair changed the OEM for a number of their PSU ranges around a year back, unfortunately quality took a dip while doing so as backed up by shortened warranties for the likes of the RME lineup.

The only Corsair PSU's I'd consider buying at the moment are the SHIFT and and RMX lines, and even then there's often better options in the price range.
I was fuming that my SF750 only had a 7 year warranty, despite it being a top tier and Platinum rated PSU! Considering other Gold rated PSU's mostly have 10 years, well any brand worth a spit.

Second one was in London, closed down in 2022.

They refused to honour my secondhand ram, despite me having the entire packaging/box with all serials numbers present on both packaging and the ram itself - apparently I need a receipt from the original buyer. **** off? The unique serial number matches the boxes? What if I'd thrown that away or the previous owner had? So much for 'lifetime warranty'...

That's standard practice though. The majority of warranties only apply to the original buyer and are not transferable which is something to remember when buying a expensive gpu or cpu as basically you have no warranty on second hand components. There is the odd exception but for the most part if you are not the original buyer you arre screwed. Even if you get the original receipt/invoice it's worthless, it's not your name and address on it and any refund will go to the card it was purchased on. You can't change any of the details without admitting that you are not the original buyer. The only exception is when you buy from our MM the majority of us will be happy to help with warranties and I have done it a couple of times now. Buy on Ebay, Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace and you are on your own.

Just an update, the new PSU arrived late evening. Finished installing it this morning (grrrr cable combs) and all my components seem fine, phew! Leaving it testing a while longer tonight, so just a case of sending this duff Corsair PSU back now!
That's great news dude :) I'm pleased for you :) Enjoy the new PSU ;) Let us know how the testing goes.

and the other thinks he knows everything because he's got a 4090
Spoke to an employee in a Currys a few months ago that was like this too. I was only asking about a HDMI cable that they had, but he seemed to go on a tangent about the cable and then about GPUs  how Nvidia is the best and I should always avoid AMD, bla bla.

I've had both Nvidia and AMD GPUs in my lifetime, both brands have been good and bad over the years, so I can't possibly be loyal to one. I know some people are, but I don't see the point tbh.

It sounds like they both took the same 'how to be a bell end at work' course?
