Think I Blew My Board !

I was cobbling together a few older parts to build a PC and forgot to plug in the board power cable to the PSU.
Turned it on with the board power missing, all other cables connected OK, board will not boot into the BIOS, I think I bítched it up good and proper.

It was the 8 pin power connector that is generally located at the top left corner on ASUS boards that was missing its connection into the PSU.
The board was a Maximus IV Extreme Z, an old board but still does the job for a basic spec PC.

I tried to get it to boot to a BIOS ROM on a USB PC but no joy.
Is it a gonner or any chance of getting it back to life?

Thx

Forgetting the 4/8 pin is very common, it is unlikely to be your problem.

E.g. more likely something like using 3rd gen CPU with an old BIOS.

You wont kill a board by not supplying enough power to it, as mentioned above you probably just need to update the bios or something.

As already said
Forgetting that won't blow anything
Just may not boot properly
Probably everyone in the forums has forgotten
The 8 pin at least once

Its an old but gold set up
2600k was an overclocking monster
But as it's that old perhaps a new bios battery
Might be required?
