Hope this lit a bit of a fire under Oscar. I think it’s stupid to complain and expect the position back after Lando’s dodgy move but it clearly didn’t align with whatever McLaren set out in the papaya rules BS, hence Oscar complaining.

Possibly the worst WDC run in recent history.

Thing is if that had happened to Alonso he would have done exactly the same, he's only moaning to try and get another position. All a bit pathetic really from someone with his history.

It’s classic Alonso really, he loves a good hypocritical moan. He’s been his own worst enemy for most of his career.

Is this Alonso trying to make Lewis bad, to try and stop everyone talking about "crash gate" happening 17 years ago at Singapore?

Dire race, and even worse TV direction. Completely missed the Antonelli/Lecelerc/Hamilton overtakes, and focussed on randoms in the crowd and garage as the leader crossed the line, leaving everyone to stare at the timing tower to see if Hamilton would get to the line before Alonso. One of the closest finishes and they completely ignored it. Absolute imbeciles.

Was going to say that. A couple of things happened in a race of nothingness. And the director missed it.

Garbage race. Just had it on in the background. Awful.

Read a comment elsewhere that this has been the worst season in a long time. Has anyone aggregated the data from the votes? Not that it's particularly scientific but could be interesting

Apparently Piastri unplugged his radio while Zak was talking to him.

Also while Piastri was in the pen doing media duties, the team decided to celebrate the constructors championship and as such is missing them celebrating on the Podium.
Probably the most exciting thing this race will give is the way piastri now operates in future races

I only got to watch the highlights reel on YT and even that was an horrifically boring 8 minutes.

I feel sorry for those that watched the whole thing.

Pretty gross from the team, even just generally from whoever manages McLaren’s media stuff.

Hopefully the start of Oscars villain arc.

I would not take the votes in here as representative at all when some only vote a race up or down because they're favourite driver won or lost.
Some also predicted that Oscar was walking away with the drivers championship at the beginning of the season and that now has turned out to be a three way contest.
So no completely I disagree with that statement.

Yeah, I've been doing it as the polls close.

I agree, it's been a pretty bad year. Who'd have thought we'd have a race scored lower than Monaco.

Three way? Remind us which planet you're on.

There is still a mathematical chance that Max can win the drivers. Long shot maybe but still a chance and I certainly wouldn't discount him and as we know Max doesn't give up easily.
So my planet thank you very much...

The one where Max has reduced the deficit to the top spot from over 100 points to 63 points in three races - which whilst a challenging trend to maintain, could see him get uncomfortably close in the next few races.

You mean the one where 25 of those points came in Baku because McLaren had a torrid weekend skewing the stats? Counting back Verstappen was +6 at Singapore, +25 as Baku, +10 at Monza so +41 over Piastri in 3 races. I think, given the rest of the season, we can ignore Baku as an outlier - so Verstappen made 16 points in 2 races. But go back 2 more races and Piatsri is +23 over Verstappen, so Verstappen is -7 (ignoring Baku still). Or do you mean the one where if Verstappen wins every race and sprint race* with Norris 2nd and Piastri 3rd, he'll win the championship by just 7 points over Norris and 9 over Piastri. Given the 7 point swing for a win, if either of the McLarens win a single (full) race with Verstappen 2nd, that McLaren drive would win the WDC.

Red Bull seem to have made gains recently but I can't see Verstappen having that level of dominance for the rest of the season. So he might get closer but without another Baku style fumbled weekend for McLaren his chance at the championship is mathematical rather than realistic.

*I've not counted the fastest lap point.
