Don't really like the taste of alcohol has a huge upside, both wallet and for health. The only instance when I think "oooh that's nice is on a really hot day and getting an ice cold Guinness and that first sip. Then it's a struggle down to the rest of the pint lol

Cider isn't too bad but that's far too easy to drink, especially one of those fruity flavour ones.

Alcohol is great, but right now my focus is to really enjoy what I’m eating and drinking. There’s zero point in going down the pub and having four pints of fosters just because. I might as well wait and have either a proper beer (@Martynt74 - dangerous to have somewhere so good nearby!!) or a great bottle of wine. Same with food, only eat it if it’s actually tasty!

Yeah, i'm generally the same now. I'll avoid beer if it's Amstel as i'm not a fan of it. It's a bit annoying i found this place. It's generally hard to get decent beer over here and i used to have to go into Alicante or Rojales which are both ~40 minutes drive and so wasn't something i did often.
This new place opened around 6 months ago and has a great rotation. Has Bruges Zot on tap so my wife is happy as it's one of her favourite beers, and they always have something New England based for me.

Following on from the above, i think i need to get a grip again on booze, i didn't think i'd started drinking more, but i think maybe the mix of adding in wine/stronger IPA's is a factor as my weight has crept up a little to over 100kg which is my threshold for where i really don't want to be!

Have a 1:8 booze rota. 1 day on, 7 days off. Will cut out the Friday “have a beer because Friday” but also allow you to enjoy a drink. This isn’t an easy one. For my money it’s about cutting down the days that one is drinking rather than attempting to have less but spread out. That approach doesn’t really work for me as one tends to lead to another, then finishing the bottle. Keep at it!

But i had a beer today and that means no more for a week! :(

Am going to try and switch to the NA Heineken at my Tuesday Spanish club. That can easily be 3-4 pints of Lagunitas and it's pretty heavy. Wednesday-Thursday i'm pretty indifferent. Friday we usually go shopping after work and end up grabbing a McDonalds as it's in the car park and actually tastes nice over here and is cheaper than anything else.

My trip to the UK now seems like it'll be ~4 days, but i'm going to hire a car and drive for meals rather than rely on my boss for lifts, so that should make things better.

My Mounjaro journey has been going very well, I'm on 5mg and my appetite continues to be fully surpassed. I continue to struggle actually eating. I've been eating out a lot in the last two weeks and managed to lose another 2.5kg, already almost 10kg down since I started ~2 months ago.

over a KG per week is very impressive

the problem i found with cutting eating quite sharply was getting dizzy / faint sometimes

but i was not on medication, i was just making myself eat much less than i normally would
