It's more than homless Brits get.

Free hotel stays and food forever? I'd take that even as someone with cash lol
No it isn’t, it literally isn’t.

It’s literally an objective fact that isn’t the case, on both counts.

If you spent more time looking into the topic rather than parroting tropes or in just case blatant lies, you’d know this.

Only if you believe that most are refugees and not economic migrants who can afford to pay smuggler gangs. Also I think the whole refugee system is rotten and broken we should fund in region asylum not import ghettos.
Most are found to have legitimate asylum claims, ergo it is a fact that most are legitimate refugees.

There is nothing to ‘believe’ there, it’s an objective fact.

If you put people who want to reduce immigration to zero or near zero on a ven diagram with those who want to abolish foreign aid, the two circles will almost perfectly intersect each other.

The very notion the same group of people will be satisfied with more foreign aid spending to reduce immigration is a complete non-starter.

Some "legitimate" claims are a joke though. Like being granted because they don't have a high standard of medical care back home...

Plenty lie, you see advertisements for how to game the system. Us having to setup a returns agreement with Albania (safe country not at war) for fake refugees kind of proves it. Also if they are genuine refugees why would they throw any identifying documentation away. If you are truly from a war torn country, ID showing that would help your case not hinder it.

I will take back my FOR in this poll due to not trusting anything that comes from this current shower of **** government, nor the last lot.

If an ID card was brought in for things I mentioned before, then I would be in favour.

It is imo funny atm how all these in it for themselves parties and all pointing together towards reform as the enemy :D

TBH I'd say many are lying. Almost all of them are young men. So they "fled war" (from a country not at war) and ditched their families?

No wonder this country is full of miserable, angry people. Do you think your life is enriched by trawling this drivel all day?
How, at a moment in history like this, can you call the perspective from Silkie Carlo form Big Brother watch drivel? They are the forefront of protecting civil liberties in the UK.

Calling this “drivel” is honestly absurd. Big Brother Watch is one of the few organisations consistently holding the government to account on civil liberties. You might disagree with their conclusions, but dismissing their work as drivel shows a real disconnect from what’s happening in the UK right now. Even if you don’t share their perspective, these issues deserve serious scrutiny, not a dismissal because you think it will make you angry.

Yep, they are totally right. It's only one step away from linking "digital ID" to internet access. Or saying you need one to sign up to an ISP. Or use a credit card, visit a GP, etc. It could be required for anything.

Then it feeds in to the OSA and you need one before you can even verfity your age.

Then of course it all gets hacked, you're digital ID cloned and then you get locked out of everything, because it's all linked together and your personal information stored in one place...

It's utter bilge, the red tinted portrait of starter, the LIAR stamp and scary camera thumbnail. If they have a serious point to make it's completely undermined by the scaremongering clickbait trash presentation and whataboutery. It's the Daily Mail in video format, i.e. trash.

So he’s not lying when he says it’s being done to prevent illegal migration?
You actually believe that? Really?
Also, would you like to purchase a bridge? I have a few for sale at the moment.
Much cheapness.

So your whole take is basically outrage at a thumbnail? That’s about as low effort as the people who lose their minds over a Daily Mail headline without ever reading the article.

You don’t have to like the presentation, but writing it off as drivel, bilge, trash, and whataboutery because of a red tint and a stamp isn’t a critique, it’s laziness. If you think their perspective is wrong, argue with the substance. Otherwise you’re just proving you’re as reactionary and low-effort as the people you’re mocking.

Big Brother Watch aren’t some fringe fearmongering group, they're the UK’s leading civil liberties organisation.

Liberty would like a word.

Laziness is not having any standards when it comes to sourcing your information, and just hoovering up all this reactionary bilge that gets shovelled at you on social media and YouTube.

Please tell me, what better source of information is there than the spokesperson for big brother watch on this particular issue?

In before the BBC, The Newsagents, LBC....

Edit: use all the above too, but they have massive blindspots that border on negligence when report on things in the whole.

It's possible to stop most of them, if we actually had a proper border defence. We're an island ffs, the only way here is by air or sea (or one tunnel).
As you've stated, we're an island with thousands of miles of coastline to cover - how do you feasibly, especially with regards to cost, patrol all that constantly from small RIBS/"rubber dighnys" landing?

There is absolutely an ulterior motive for this digital ID crap. Probably to tie it in with the OSA and internet access, which has already fallen flat on it's arse.
I think i'll wait for some actual evidence instead of letting my imagination fly on conspiracies and what-ifs :)

They are all coming from the same place in a narrow stretch of water...

It's not like they are coming across from the arctic or Denmark lol
